NTP doesnt work for Win2000 clients + Samba 4.0.4 (see tcpdump)
Hi all,
I am using Samba 4.0.4 as AD DC on my test environment and realized that all my W2k clients (default installation, no special setups made on the clients) cannot receive the correct time of my samba 4.0.4 AD domain controller. Windows XP and 7 work fine though. The problem occurs at three W2k test clients I tried with. The default behavior of Windows clients is to use the update type

Samba4, NTP, and Ubuntu 12.04
Hello,
I have a question regarding signed NTP support for Samba4 on Ubuntu 12.04. I have followed most of the steps outlined here:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_NTP
These steps I did differently are:
* I did not install from source because the latest Ubuntu package for ntp available on Ubuntu 12.04 includes ntp-signd support already
* I did not install Samba4 to /usr/local/samba, so

Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
Hello,
I HAVE sniffed the network traffic for this w2k client and
provided the link via paste.ubuntu.com, so everybody can look inside
that without the need
of extra-tools like wireshark. And as I realized you have looked into
that sniffed result output. I did it this way, because I work on an
isolated test env which I cannot access through my computers and do file
transfers. And I dont

Installation and Setup of Samba4 AD DC on CentOS6
I have setup a Samba4 server and would like to report my experiences in
the hope that it may be helpful to others.
I basically followed the official Samba4 HowTo, which is very good.
Based on what I have seen, this is the only document I would recommend
people to follow. I will try not to repeat things that are covered in
the HowTo, but rather focus on what I did differently or additionally,
