Compile help for Solaris 10 x86, samba 3.0.28a deficient?
Hi all,
I've got an ongoing battle with samba shipped with Sun Solaris 10 in
it's current form (Samba version 3.0.28a) not wanting to talk to my
OpenLDAP master correctly. Essentially, under certain conditions, this
behaviour is observed, in the log.smbd:

WannaCry did not infect XP or for that matter, Windows Nein,
oops, Ten. Doesn't mean it couldn't if altered to do so:

coxph reference hazard rate
Hi,
In the following results I interpret exp(coef) as the factor that multiplies
the base hazard rate if the corresponding variable is TRUE. For example,
when the bucket is ks008 and fidelity <= 3, then the rate, compared to the
base rate h_0(t), is h(t) = 0.200 h_0(t). My question is then, to what case
does the base hazard rate correspond to? I would expect the reference to be
the first

[PATCH] test-charset-fidelity: allow to skip testing specific FSes
Allow to skip testing the filesystem "foo" if the environment variable
SKIP_TEST_CHARSET_FIDELITY_foo=1 is set. This way it possible to not
test one or more filesystems without disabling the test altogether.

graphics site
About six months ago there was a reference to a site (in french) that
did a spectacular job of demonstrating R's graphical capabilities.
My bookmarks were recently wiped and I cannot find this site despite my
best googling.
Anyone have the address which I have done a miserable job describing?
Thanks.

Samba 3.0.28a onwards "allow trusted domains" has no effect?
Hi,
I've noticed a discrepancy between Samba Version 3.0.28a and Version
3.0.24 in relation to Winbind rid idmap and trusted domains behaviour.
I have an environment with 2 domains linked via a trust, an Active
Directory domain and an NT4 domain. On 3.0.24 the rid backend seems to
work fine, but on 3.0.28a it shows OTHERDOMAIN\domain admins instead of
the primary domain's domain

winbindd_privileged problem with 3.0.28a
Hi, all.
Has anyone else experienced issues with using ntlm_auth in 3.0.28a? We have
had squid set up to use ntlm_auth for quite some time & the latest update
seems to break.
I'm getting (in /var/log/messages)

CentOS 5.3 Xen installation trouble installing FUSE
Hi,
I've got CentOS 5.3 installed as a Xen client installed. I've recently been
trying to install TrueCrypt on the VM, but am having miserable troubles with
the Fuse kernel module.
To date, I've installed the following packages:
yum install truecrypt
yum install fuse
However, to launch the fuse module, I need the dkms_autoinstaller running.
However, when I try to start the

I'd entirely go against that. The text installer is a legacy tool that I'd
avoid whenever possible. Kickstart/cmdline or GUI, but text is just there to
make you miserable.

Samba 2.2.4 Printing Not Liking WinXP
I have Samba 2.2.4 installed on Redhat 7.3. I was
trying to set up printers through it and everything
works great on from a Windows 2000 Professional
Client, but a Windows XP Client dies a miserable death
when trying to view the properties of a printer. On
the Windows XP Client side, I get:

On the Redhat 7.3 side, I'm seeing:

Winbind and LDAP
I've been having a miserable time trying to get Winbind working. All of
the literature I've found seems to indicate it "just works" - which I'd
love - but it hasn't gone that way for me. Because I'm already using
LDAP, it seemed to make sense to use the LDAP support for Winbind. But
Winbind continues to give errors and generally be unhappy.
Besides using the

Samba 3.0.28a
I have a test environment running Fedora 8 and Samba 3.0.28a on two
PDC's and one Domain Member. I have a DOM-A PDC with a ldap backend,
running winbind. I have a DOM-B PDC with a ldap backend, running
winbind. The two domains have trusts both ways. I also have a domain
member called TESTSERVER joined to the DOM-A domain, running winbind. I
was running 3.0.28 on TESTSERVER and I could do

winbind between trusted domains really acting up under 3.0.28a
I'm starting to see some really weird things happen on a range of
Samba-3.0.28a servers installed as "security=ADS" members of a variety
of domains. This was working last time I checked (weeks ago), but
something's happened. Windows Updates tend to spring to mind more than
Samba upgrades as a cause...
On all of them, "wbinfo -t" is happy, "net ads

fruit:copyfile not working as expected
Hi folks,
I have a number of Mac users connecting to our Samba fileserver over VPN.
When they copy/move files between shares it takes quite a long time due to
our miserable business internet connection. I set fruit:copyfile = yes in
smb.conf expecting that to enable server-side copy for Mac users.
Unfortunately, it did not.
Befuddled, I tried the same copy operation from a Windows VM and it

amiDebugger - might make your life easier if you program through the AMI
Hi all,
I have been playing with the AMI quite a bit lately - mostly debugging
WombatDialer in production, but that's a different story - and I have been
frustrated by the lack of a simple way to interact CLI-like with the AMI
itself. So I have decided to write something myself to make my life easier,
or at least a bit less miserable.
The result is a little webapp that you can use as a sort
