Rsync 3.0.0pre6 released
I've just released rsync 3.0.0pre6, the latest pre-release version of
the upcoming 3.0.0 release.
Things are still progressing in our efforts to stamp out bugs for the
final release. There are still some things reported earlier that I have
either not yet had a chance to fix or have been unable to reproduce yet,
but I hope to get even more of these problems sorted out soon. Please

I've just released rsync 3.0.0pre10. I incorporated the latest daemon

well. If all goes well, this should be released as 3.0.0 final sometime
next week.
Please help to test it to ensure that we're ready to go! Send email to

Rsync 3.0.0pre9 released
I've just released rsync 3.0.0pre9. We needed one last bug-fix release
prior to the 3.0.0 final release, so here it is. I'm not anticipating
any large changes prior to that milestone. Please help to test it to
ensure that we're ready to go! Send email to the rsync mailing list

Issue with rsync 3.0.0 and iconv
Hello there,
I have a windows box (spanish locale, charset cp1252) which is backup to a
linux server via rsync. Until now I've had problems with file names
containing non us-ascii characters. Since the new stable version of rsync
with support for iconv I've upgraded rsync on my linux (Debian) to 3.0.0 and
also on my windows (cygwin, compiled from source).
It works quite right, getting

Rsync 3.0.0pre1 released
I've just released rsync 3.0.0pre1, the first pre-release version for
the upcoming 3.0.0 release. The version number is getting such a large
bump due to the addition of an incremental recursion scan (which helps
a lot with large transfers) and the official arrival of several other
new features, including ACL support, extended attribute support, file-
name character-set conversion, etc.

rsync checksums change randomly
Hello,
I have a weird issue with rsync randomly marking some files as having a
different checksum (see sample outputs below - run one after another). You
would think it is some kind of corruption / io problem with the files but
it doesn't seem so - I have copied files around, changes source to
different machines, counted md5s manually 100s of times - always the same.
All files except
