Dear list, I have no in depth knowledge about samba but use the online tutorial to configure the samba server. this time I have installed samba ( Version 3.2.4-4.3-2042-SUSE-SL11.0 ) on suse 11. I have now disallowed the guest users and created some samba users with "smbpasswd -a <username> " command. but if I try to connect with the samba share from another linux box I get

Basic server role question
I have a samba 3.2.3-0.1-1882 server running on Suse SL11.0. It's out of the box, just the way YAST builds it. Pardon the extremely basic level questions here. The intent for this server is basically just file and print services. (It's defined as a BDC, I think, because I didn't do that on a previous install and I couldn't get name service (wins) to work right. Wins works

oplocks failed if user is not the owner of the file?
I have some identical windows 7 clients. All connected to Samba 3.5.4-1.1-2382-SUSE-SL11.0. If I'm the windows-owner of the file, swat shows me under "oplock" "exclusive+batch". Other users get: "none". What is the reason for this? ___________________________________________________________ Neu: WEB.DE De-Mail - Einfach wie E-Mail, sicher wie ein Brief! Jetzt

Re: installation error
Never mind I was missing libreadline-dev I gues this check would be good to be added with an error to the configure script since it creates error in compilation Regards, Peter > On 22 Nov 2015, at 20:06, Keresztes Péter-Zoltán <zozo@z0z0.tk> wrote: > > Hello, > > I have got into a different issue while trying to compile the latest version of libguestfs: > > CC

Re: libguestfs on proxmox
Unfortunately I cannot use the latest version of libguestfs therefore I am stuck with the 1.20 since the newest versions need augeas 1.0.0 where debian wheezy has only 0.7 in it’s repository. But I will try to compile the ocaml 4.01 and see what is the result. Keresztes Péter-Zoltán zozo@z0z0.tk I haven’t lost my mind, I know exactly where I left it. On 01 Jul 2014, at 18:19, Richard W.M. Re: virt-customize fail to inject firstboot script when running it from script.
Figured it out. The generated script had CRLF line termination. When we have removed the \r from the end if line everything started to work. Thanks for the help. We are enforcing #!/bin/bash at the beginning of the scripts and bash is installed in every guest. Regards, Peter 2017. márc. 14. dátummal, 16:14 időpontban Richard W.M. I've gotten fairly far into compiling and running dovecot on HPUX. The problem I'm currently having is that the index seems to be mmap'ed at twice after login. The 576 byte mmap is the index file: root at hp46t243 # grep mmap64 /tmp/dovecot.tusc [imap ][1707] mmap64(NULL, 576, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_SHARED, 7, 0) = 0xc166c000 [imap ][1707] mmap64(NULL, 18432,
