Freebsd 4 error DSN stat=Service Unavailable after dovecot install
Hello everyone, I am getting an error message on FreeBSD 4 after I install dovecot. To start off, I create two regular users, testuser and testuser1. I send each user emails then I install dovecot. After installing dovecot I set up the users in Maildir format then proceed to send them emails and here is what shows up in the maillogs: Email to testuser3 - Mar 29 22:34:52 myserver

winbind/idmap issue on samba4 member server
Oh! I think I did find the error now :-) If I understand "NOW" correctly, I have also to assign a UID to EACH of my AD users in ADUC tool in the [UNIX Attribute] tab, is that correct? I just tried out. In ADUC tool I did choose "testuser3", and on the [UNIX Attribute] tab I activated the NIS domain so it reflects to "MYDOM". Then by default there was UID=10000, I

J2EE equivalent
Gang- 1. Is there anything in Ruby that handles the .properites files similar to the J2EE application servers. Or do I need to define all of the properties as constants? 2. Is there anyway I can load some of my classes (such as singletons) during the startup? I am looking for the startup classes that J2EE containers provide. 3.0.6 & "string overflow by 1"
I updated one of my file servers to 3.0.6, and while file serving is improved (no M$-Office file already open messages), every time I access a printer my logs flood with messages like to those below. It seems I can set printer properites, etc... but when I print the jobs seem to go to never-never land (still researching where the jobs go). [2004/08/20 08:46:27, 0]

winbind/idmap issue on samba4 member server
Hello list, I'm stuck since 2 days and I have no clue how to troubleshoot and solve that problem. Any help really really appreciated. Scenario: ========= I am using Samba 4.1.12/sernet on DC1 (172.19.100.1) and DC2 (172.19.100.2) with default [netlogon] and [sysvol] share only. I installed an additional samba4 server with fileserving role which is called MEMBERSRV1 (172.19.100.3), which is

Hello all, I have a AD DC based on CentOS7 with sernet samba 4.1.14 with rfc2307 and function level 2008_R2. This one works so far and I can manage the AD from a windows client. Now I setup a member server based on CentOS7 with sernet samba 4.1.14 just like the wiki advises with the same smb.conf (realm etc is configured to my needs. I joined the AD and configured nsswitch. wbinfo works so far

Issue creating mailboxes
CentOS 6.5, cyrus-imapd 2.3.16-6 So, I gather you're supposed to create mailboxes called user.<username> But I wind up with user^<username>, and mailbox can't be found. Samba 4.1 gentent, ls, no display domain user name on Primary ACDC but wbinfo -u yes
Yes im see the same as you on the member, but not in the ADDC. A question, do you have idmap configs on the smb.conf of the ADDC? - Start again would be wonderful. But if I did that, then I can import the entire hierarchy of the domain? I have many OU, Group Policy and around 300 users with homes and permissions on the directories. This can be a big problem for fix a litle problem, i cant

Can't remove folder (no thunderbird issue)
Hi, first of all: yes, I already dug the internet but didn't find a solution - that's why I'm asking you. My provider uses dovecot, although I can't tell you more about the version - sorry. Mail is stored in mbox format. My trouble: I was unable to create subfolders and googled a bit. A proposed solution was to append a slash at the end of the folder name. I used Thunderbird to

When I switch back to backend ad, getent passwd returns nothing - getent group only returns by adding a dedicated group name. There is at least one user and one group with Id set in ad. Am 9. Definitely. With backend=ad only two user can be seen by getent passwd. Then changing backend=rid, all users are resolved by getent passwd Am 9. Why won't Rails update my object attributes?
Here''s the issue: When I submit a form for updating, @person.update_attributes doesn''t work. But the next nested clause for updating images DOES work. How is that possible? However no matter what I do the Person object will not change its attributes. def edit @person = Person.find(params[:id]) if request.post? @person.update_attributes(params[:person])

linux groups & NT global groups with winbindd
I posed this question earlier but it was with another question and I think it got lost. I have winbindd up and running and working great. If I add NT domain users to an NT domain global group, add that group to a local linux group in /etc/group, and then assign that local linux group ownership of an object (file or dir) should this work? In other words, can you still use local linux groups as
