inotify trouble
Hello there This morning our main Samba server was pretty unresponsive running at a 30+ load average. After digging a bit what I found in the logs was the following. No data on inotify fd?! [2008/01/21 07:02:59, 0] smbd/notify_inotify.c:inotify_handler(234) That entry appears a billion zillion times in the log file until the file system is filled up leaving no space on the device and sending

Error after setting up fts /solr for Open-Xchange
Hi, just saw, that v2.2.13 is still the latest version in wheezy backports. I don't really like the idea of messing around with self compiled versions, at least not, if my original problem might as well have a good possibility not to be resolved by the update. I can't find anything regarding the " file fts-search-serialize.c: line 63 (fts_search_deserialize_add_idx): assertion

Error after setting up fts /solr for Open-Xchange
Hi List, i have tried to get fts / solr running with virtual all folder with Open-Xchange. I followed a pretty well written howto from Open-Xchanges Intranet, and i first thought everything was running smooth, as the first one or two searches were successful. However now whenever i try to search again for something in the virtual "all folders" Open-Xchange tells me: *Error*

Imap Ghost folder
Hi list, i have a strange "ghost" folder in my subscription list and just can't find out how to get rid of it. It seems to be someones Inbox, but it doesn't tell me whose. Here's a screenshot of Open-Xchanges Web-GUI: /http://s9.postimage.org/6aohh97ov/iehadjhb.jpg / As you can see there is an unamed folder just under Freigaben (Shares). In Thunderbird:

only mark as deleted when deleted as default for some mailboxes
Hi list, i wonder if this is possible with some dovecot configuration. Selected mailboxusers will only mark their mails as deleted, when a mail is being deleted through any client. No automatic expunge. This is default behaviour in Outlook, and i think in Thunderbird too, but unfortunately not in Open-Xchange for example. So i was asking myself if it would be possible to simply turn this

Error after setting up fts /solr for Open-Xchange
Hi! Well...That seemed to have worked in fact. Updated to 2:2.2.16-1~auto+36. "All folders"-search works, and no errors are being shown. Besides, the all folder search in Open-Xchange looks great and is lightning fast! Thank you very much for your help Sascha Am 28.03.2015 um 15:39 schrieb Robert Schetterer: > Am 28.03.2015 um 14:24 schrieb zucca at systemschmiede.com: >> Hi,

inotify_add_watch returned Permission denied
Hello, We are using Samba 4.10.16 as a file server on a linux box with SLES 12. All is working fine with our NAS NFS Shares. We are now trying to integrate new NFS Shares from an archive provider, but samba gets crashed when a client tries to access files on these shares. New start of samba is required! In the smbd.log, I see these entries: [2020/06/24 17:58:23.118208, 1]

Samba crashes & floods logfiles: "smbd/notify_inotify.c:244(inotify_handler) - No data on inotify fd?!"
Dear Group members! Since I have set up a Samba PDC-Server (openSUSE 11.2-64bit with default package Samba 3.4.3) approx. 8 months ago, I have encountered 3 or 4 times a severe crash of Samba. What happens is that all over a sudden Samba floods /var/log/messages and /var/log/warn with the following message (cropped out date/time/servername, etc.): smbd[19724]:

NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION when trying to delete files
I searched the archives already and couldn't find an answer to this. I'm running an automated process via a cron job on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 box. The cron runs a Perl script, which uses the SmbClientParser module. The Perl script grabs files from clients running Windows 2000. The files on the client computers are created by in-house MFC applications on those computers.
