Samba 3.0.24 Upgrade to any further version -> fail
Hi, I can't upgrade my samba. We use samba in a windows 2003 AD. Works really great, but to get samba fixed and get benefits (like better ACL support) from newer versions, I want to upgrade. I tried with the package-manager, compile the source from packaging team or from upstream. The target on every try was the latest sambaversion to have. Users couldn't connect after upgrade. Windows

secrets.tdb and Samba 3.0.28 -> 3.3.4 migration
Hi all, When moving between Samba 3.0.X revisions, I have been able to copy the secrets.tdb file and the trust relationships with foreign domains remain established. However, this does not appear to work when moving directly from 3.0.X to the 3.3.X branch. Is there a tool available that allows us to migrate - or can tdbdump (or similar) be used to dump out data from the 3.0.X format and then be

How to force winbind (3.4.1) to talk to a certain AD-server?
Hello, how can I force winbind to talk to a certain AD-controller? I run version 3.4.1 and winbind is joined to the Win2k3/2k8 domain, with security = ADS. It seems as if winbind always sticks to the last successfully contacted server. That server has bad performance and I want winbind to use another server for NTLM-authentication. It seems to ignore the "password server" setting.

LDAP Migration problem
Hello all, I am using Samba version 3.2.5 configured for Windows Domain login. It was working fine until I moved over to ldapsam. Now when I login to the XP client I don't see the logon drive (X: in my case) Any debug tips? //Ger -- Gerard Hooton Systems Administrator Blarney Boy's National School, Blarney. Co. Cork

Windows machines (WINXP, WIN2K) can/will not join domain
We have been running Samba v3.0.32 On Red Hat Linux for probably 2 years now (or since it was released). Recently over a three week period, all the Windows clients slowly dropped from the domain one by one and we are unable to get them to re-join the domain. We are still able to map to drives and printers on the Samba server and use them with no problem, but cannot join the domain. We need to

SAMBA 4.7.4 with MIT Keberos
Hello, i installed a SAMBA 4.7.4 AD Server on Ubuntu 18.04 (BETA). SAMBA4 was compiled from source. For MIT Keberos i also installed libkrb5-dev and krb5-kdc and compiled with the "--with-system-mitkrb5" option. The installation runs pretty good (some dependencies problem, solved manually). But now im not able to test kerberos: # kinit administrator --> kinit: Cannot find KDC

Preventing winbind from crashing while KDC is unreachable
hi, we have here a multi-domain environment and my question is: is that a wanted behavior, that winbind crashed with "error looking up domain users" if a KDC isn't available and winbind had to be restarted to work again? We have a maintainance rotation for server an network. So I wanted, that Winbind notice for itself if the one specific KDC is on again (he is not really down, but

Get all symbols stored(?)in llvm::orc::ExecutionSession
Hi Bjoern, I’m a bit worried about taking symbols from modules, because some of the > symbols might change later when the code was compiled with the JIT Symbol names shouldn't change from the moment they're added to the JIT (i.e. after being fully mangled). Consistency of symbol names is a requirement for ORC to work. You could try hooking into the orc::Platform API for this:

Samba CIFS Mounts with Kerberos Security: Write Access denied
Hi all, I am testing different setups for Samba home share mounts via the CIFS protocol on Linux clients with and without Keberos security (both krb5 and krb5i). I am experiencing some strange behaviour in case of Kerberos authentication: In case of mounts (by root or the user itself) without Kerberos security (only NTLMv2 authentication), local root and the owning user on the Linux client

ORC JIT - Incorrect support for COFF files?
Hey Lang, That is really cool :D Is the creation of that table a Windows thingy or is this the way the LLVM handles it? Also… since it is COFF related – the never ending story of “finding my global constructors” first of all: Yes! I tried using the “initialize” function of LLVMJIT – however this only worked when I was loading a Module. When I added the object file (from the same source) the

Questions about moving from MCJIT to Orc JIT
Nice! Let me try to answer some questions, Before that I have to mention this is ORC version 2 APIs and this is where the project is moving forward. JITDylib is the symbol table, basically for a JIT Symbol it have an associated materializers, (you can think of it like an entity that generate the address for that symbol), Example: compiler are materializers. So to add symbols to your own JIT you

JIT-Client for Shared Memory
Hi Bjoern, For single object files you can override the needsToReserveAllocationSpace method that is inherited from llvm::RuntimeDyld::MemoryManager (make it return true) and then implement the reserveAllocationSpace method to allocate memory for all sections up front. There is no easy way to do this for multiple object files. I think you would have to mimic the memory size calculations

Compiling the latest SVN checkout
Hello, I just checked out the latest version of speex and I want to compile it. The INSTALL file says that's easy: bjoern@deimos:~/studium/beleg/resources/svn/speex$ cat INSTALL Installing Speex is as easy as: % ./configure [--prefix=<install-path>] % make % make install Note that if you are using the code from SVN, you will need to run "autogen.sh" instead of

JIT client - late cross references
Hello Alex, This is an interesting approach! Thank you for that! I understand the basic idea but sadly... My skills in handling the IR are not very high, so I can't imagine where and when to replace the calls to b() with the trampoline. The only thing I can handle would be creating that trampoline variable. Also will this approach be a problem for really time critical tasks? Since I replace

Get all symbols stored(?)in llvm::orc::ExecutionSession
Hi Bjoern, Did you see my previous reply? There's no way to do this currently. ORC assumes you know all the symbols, > since you added the modules defining them. > For testing / debugging you can dump the modules to stderr using > ExecutionSession::dump, but that's about it. > Do you want the symbols for diagnostic purposes, or some other reason?
