Corrupt inodes on shared disk...
I am having problems when using a Dell PowerVault MD3000 with multipath from a Dell PowerEdge 1950. I have 2 cables connected and mount the partition on the DAS Array. I am using RHEL 4.4 with RHCS and a two node cluster. Only one node is "Active" at a time, it creates a mount to the partition, and if there is an issue RHCS will fence the device and then the other node will mount the

Recommendations
We have two virtual machines on ESX 3 running CentOS 4.3 and we'd like to turn them into some sort of highly available nfs file server. Currently, I am familiar with DRBD and RHCS but I was curious what others might recommend in such a situation. I'm not sure how easily we could use RHCS in such a situation because we don't really have the advantage of shared storage in this setup.

telnet to serial connection?
hello folks! here's my situation: i've got two WTI RPB+ remote power switches (essentially a 5-port power strip which you can control via serial interface to make each of the ports switch on and off independently). they work fine; i plug a DB-9 cable into the back of my machine, fire up minicom, and i have full control. however, my eventual plan is to use these as fencing

RHCS on CentOS4 - 2 node cluster problem
Hello fellows, I have a problem with a 2 node RHCS cluster (CentOS 4) where node 1 failed and node 2 became active. That happened already last year and due to holidays the customer didn't recognize it. The cluster is just a failover for Apache and has no shared storage space. Customer now saw the situation, tried to fix it by rebooting node 1, which then failed to come back up. As

Apache/Cluster issue -- Single public IP address
I want to set up a cluster that is used for web hosting (RHCS cluster). Recently, I experimented with a 2 node cluster and was able to run it successfully. However, I have started facing some issues with Apache, which I had configured as a service using the Cluster configuration tool. To do this Apache needs a floating IP address. This address is in addition to the network interface IP address.

redundant ldap - client config
Hi all, I have a few ldap servers slaved to a primary via syncrepl, all is well. I've set my clients to auth against a few and there /etc/ldap.conf looks like so; uri ldap://primary.domain.com ldap://secondary.domain.com However when either primary or slaves go down, while the clients can log in, access is very slow, ls of any dir is painful. The /var/log/messages shows several failed

Samba 3 with OpenLDAP multimaster or Fedora-DS
Hi, I'd like to know if any of you have ever implemented Samba 3 with OpenLDAP multimaster (using syncrepl, maybe) or Fedora-DS. The basic idea would be: - WAN link dies, the remote office's BDC would promote itself to PDC (using some kind of monitoring script), and will start accepting changes to the user base. Also, some change to the local WINS server would be necessary. - WAN link

No live migration for xen virtual machines any more

Question about multiple ldap backend (as failover/load balance)
Hello OK, in my case, there is only one samba server acting as PDC. On the PDC, it has a openldap server as backend. I have configured another server as the slave ldap server. slave ldap server will pool data by syncrepl. There are some spaces in samba/smbldap-tool that we can configure multiple ldap servers (or load balance by use of DNS) What happen if the PDC write data to the slave ldap

I?ve set remotes LDAP's (BDCs) with multimaster configuration via syncrepl. LDAP Multimaster feature works fine (N-way replication works perfectly) I need this configuration to void errors when a user must to change his/her password in a

Replicated Failover Domain Controller and file server using LDAP
Hello Samba Users, Simo and I have put together a new document which includes the latest replication methods using Openldap. Instead of using the ageing slurpd for replication (which is no longer actively developed or supported); Openldap as of version 2.3 supports a new feature called delta-syncrepl. http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Replicated_Failover_Domain_Controller_and_fi

Failed to start a "virtual machine " service on RHCS in CentOS 6
Hi? All: I have two physical machines as KVM hosts (clusterA.RHCS and clusterB.RHCS) , an iscsi target set into GFS. All I want is a HA Cluster which could migrate all the virtual machines on a node to another when the first node failed into some error status. So I created a cluster "cluster" using RHCS ,added the two hosts into the cluster . created a fence device . for every virtual
