Samba 3.0.26a, windows 2k3 r2 SFU, problems with auth/nss
Dear samba list,
For some time we've had servers connecting to a w2k3 r2 server via
ADS setup. Wins was working fine and users were able to authenticate.
Recently we've added a GFS like system. This required getting the
UID/GID's unified. Suggestions were made on the samba IRC channel to
install SFU on the PDC. I'm receiving some very strange output.

Internal Error Signal 11 (Samba 3.2.3)
Hello list users. In my journey to world of Linux/Windows interoperability, I have now almost reached my goal to successfully authenticate Linux users using Windows Server 2003 SP2. The (hopefully) last obstacle is that "wbinfo -i <username>" causes the following error to be produced in log.wb-<DOMAIN> file (consequently, logins are failing also of course). Samba version is

help regarding <voice to text>
Hi Keith,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Actually I am trying to build an application in linux & C for converting
a voice file(that is WAV) to a text message.
This is required for one of our voice project.
So just wanted to know if there is any existing application already
there in linux to do that.
Otherwise I have to write my own.
Now to right my own "wav to text" converter I

nss_winbind / offline logon
Hello list users,
I have been struggling to make my AD integrated Debian Lenny box to work fluently also when network connectivity is down. What I would like to achieve:
1) When no network available, local user should still work normally
2) If possible, AD located users should still be able to login if they have previously logged in successfully (cached login)
Number 2 is more like optional,

`samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix` fails: governsID already exists as an attributeId or governsId
It's amazing how long Samba just keeps running even when apparently
everything's broken.
In preparation of finally upgrading our DCs to 41.0, I ran dbcheck on
all of them, resulting in:

Speex is an audio codec that can encode and decode audio for transmission
over network (or for storage).
Specifically, it's called speex because it is tailored to work well at
encoding speech at small bitrates.
Speex does not do speech recognition or text to speech.
You may wish to look at CMU's speech page:
http://www.speech.cs.cmu.edu/(look at Sphynx).
And I'll tell you -

attributeID is not known in our schema, not fixing replPropertyMetaData
Hi
We migrated Windows 2003 with Exchange to Samba 4.2.14, 4.3.11 (we have few Samba DCs). Exchange is not needed. Joining was OK but replication is not working.
Forcing sync with all attributes from the original WIN DC does not work
Seems like the most accurate Samba 4.2.14 (used for changing passwords, adding users etc) has DB error:
samba-tool dbcheck :

Samba 4 "Services for UNIX"? [SOLVED]
To get the automount schema to work with the git checkout of samba 4 I had
to modify the automount schema files and separate the attributes from the
classes. I also discovered that it's required to have the
ntSecurityDescriptor , instanceType, and objectCategory attributes. Without
these it will crash whenever you try to browse... I did alot of stopping
samba, tarring of /usr/local/samba and

Rack env rack.multiprocess true with single worker
Hi,
unicorn unconditionally sets rack.multiprocess to true in the Rack
environment. The Rack spec [0] says the following about the variable:
"true if an equivalent application object may be simultaneously invoked
by another process, false otherwise."
When unicorn is running with a single worker this does not hold so what
do you think about setting the variable to false when only a
