NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS when winbindd under large traffic.
Hi list, Thanks in advanced. I have written a winbindd client software to do NTLM authentication by using WINBINDD_PAM_AUTH_CRAP message. that is to say, my winbindd client is similar to ntlm_auth, but with high performance. when I test it under large traffic, most of the time they all work well. and the transaction per second can reach more than 900. but sometimes, winbindd will return

Winbind/ntlm_auth issues
Hi, I'm struggling to get squid+ntlm_auth working correctly. I have successfully joined the domain, and I am able to successfully enumerate groups and users using wbinfo. I can also successfully run "wbinfo -a." However, once I configure Squid to use ntlm_auth per: auth_param ntlm program /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --helper-protocol=squid-2.5-ntlmssp --debug-level=10 --nt-response

OT: Is "Samba" an acronym?
http://us4.samba.org/samba/docs/SambaIntro.html Through his E'mail contacts, Andrew discovered that NetBIOS and SMB were actually (though nominally) documented. With this new information at his fingertips he set to work again, but soon ran into another problem. He was contacted by a company claiming trademark on the name that he had chosen for his server software. Rather than cause a fuss,

Spurious auth failures with 2.5S3 + wb_ntlm
Greetings: I am in the process of setting up ntlm-based user authentication with Squid. Following the various instructions available in the FAQ and on the mailing list, I have what appears to be a functioning setup: I can use `wbinfo' to authenticate successfully, and Squid works as configured, logging my authenticated username into the logs. However, after what appears to be a random

Could not write response[27830:AUTH_CRAP] to client: Broken pipe
Hello, We're using FreeRADIUS and winbind to authenticate access to our wireless network. The problem we're experiencing is that the secure channel between the wbind daemon and the DC appears to be unstable. The outages last for about 30 seconds and coincide with a series of "...Broken pipe" messages in the log.winbindd file (see below). Is this a samba fault or an DC issue,

Getting users and groups through winbind on FreeBSD
Hi We have a few Linux samba servers that authenticate against our Active Directory domain (Small Business Server 2000). I've added a couple of disks to a FreeBSD 6.1 server in our office and I'm trying to achieve the same but not having much luck. I'm new to all this... I'm not our network admin, but he is BSD-phobic so I thought it was safer to do it myself.

Sharing to domain users?
Couple questions to those who have the winbindd service up and running... I *think* winbindd is working now... I can browse the samba server through windows explorer and open directories. There is a little delay when I first connect... I assume this is winbind passing the authentication request to my NT servers and awaiting a response. The problem now is that I can't seem to write to the

Samba domain member losing membership
Hello all, I've recently posted here for help with a Samba domain member system which seems to lose it's domain membership. I want to discuss it a little more. I have more information. I'm after comments and suggestions for troubleshooting. Also, i say "loses membership" but i don't really know if it has lost it. Just doesn't work anymore until i re-join the Samba
