Hello, i try to create a samba server for more then one trusted domain. I know there were some issues with samba 3.5, and in the internet i always read, i should use samba 3.4. So i wanted to give 3.6 a chance. I first tried autorid with a config like this: winbind enum users = yes winbind enum groups = yes idmap backend = autorid idmap gid = 100000-1499999

Restrict users with their IPs
Hi All! On my samba server I`ve got some stuff with require authorization. I create needed users for that. These users belong to the same group - private. But now I want to restrict them even more - I want to bind them to particular IPs. Eg user1 will be able to connect to private share only from user1_IP, user2 from user2_IP. How can I do this with samba ? Here is my private share

I just joined our samba server to Active Directory and it works great with ACL - I can add/remove Sales, Marketing, IT groups etc.., unfortunately, so can everyone else. Q) How can I restrict our regular windows XP users from manipulating the "Properties -> Security" tab in file explorer? I'd need to restrict

Weird password problems
Hello, all.. I'm running into some weird password problems with Samba 2.0.5a. Here's what I'm *trying* to do. I have several Linux & Sun boxes that I'd like to share their resources with various DOS/Win9x PCs. I don't want to have to maintain password files on each of the these. Currently, the Unix passwords are shared via NIS, with a SunOS box as the master. What I

Very slow performance on Sharded GlusterFS
Hi, I want to give an update for this. I also tested READ speed. It seems, sharded volume has a lower read speed than striped volume. This machine has 24 cores with 64GB of RAM . I really don?t think its caused due to low system. Stripe is kind of a shard but a fixed size based on stripe value / filesize. Hence, I would expect at least the same speed or maybe little slower. What I get is

data corruption - any update?
Just so I know. Is it correct to assume that this corruption issue is ONLY involved if you are doing rebalancing with sharding enabled. So if I am not doing rebalancing I should be fine? -bill On 10/3/2017 10:30 PM, Krutika Dhananjay wrote: > > > On Wed, Oct 4, 2017 at 10:51 AM, Nithya Balachandran > <nbalacha at redhat.com <mailto:nbalacha at redhat.com>> wrote:
