Exclude all but include select folders
Hi, I'm trying to rsync up to some centos repositories, but I only want to pull down the i386 and i386_64 folders with their RPMs, I've tried various combinations and include and exclude, and I'm sure that the below should work, but it doesn't... SOURCE=rsync://mirror.stanford.edu/mirrors/centos rsync -avrt $SOURCE --include=i386/ --include=*/ --exclude=* /var/www/html/centos/

Right, but a) I think I tried using prune 20 years ago... and b) I thought the o/p wanted to not deal with any directory

Windows 2000 and TNG
Hello all: I just recieved Windows 2000 Professional Final Release. I am currently running Samba in order to serve my Windows 95 & Windows 98 Machines. From my understanding, I needed to get something called TNG. I read instructions on CVS and it downloaded TNG onto my computer. Then I went on and did "./configure", "./make", and am about to do "./make

find with exclude directory
Hey all, I'm trying to do a find of all files with the phrase 'varnish' in the name, but want to exclude a user home directory called /usr/local/digitalplatform. Here's what I was able to come up with: find / -path '/usr/local/digitalplatform/*' -prune -o -name "*varnish*" Which results in this: [root at uszmpwsls014lb ~]# find / -path

delete directories with find and exclude other directories
Hi all, I'm attempting to delete some directories and I want to be able to exclude a directory called 'logs' from being deleted. This is my basic find operation (without the exclusion) # find . -type d |tail -10 ./d20160124-1120-df8mfb/deployments ./d20160124-1120-df8mfb/releases ./d20160131-16993-vazqg5 ./d20160131-16993-vazqg5/metadata ./d20160131-16993-vazqg5/deployments

CPAN mirroring exclude syntax assistance request
I'm running a local CPAN mirror and there is one recursive subdirectory I desire to exclude. I've tried many different syntax variations with no luck. Someone let me know where I'm going wrong: /usr/bin/rsync -av --delete --exclude '/src/***' --no-implied-dirs \ --delete-excluded --prune-empty-dirs ftp.funet.fi::CPAN /cpan-mirror/ Thanks. -- Love feeling your

Request for exclude syntax assistance
I'm baffled by exclude syntax. I'm mirroring CPAN and am trying to exclude all files in the src/ directory. I've tried for days to figure this out and now throwing myself on the mercy of this list. Here's my current incantation: /usr/bin/rsync -av --delete --exclude '/src/**' --delete-excluded \ --prune-empty-dirs ftp.funet.fi::CPAN /cpan-mirror/ I've

Exception Handling Deep Dive at Dev Meeting
I'm proposing that one of the esteemed members of the LLVM community present a talk on exception handling both how it is done inside LLVM and in general. The interest from my part is the Windows Exception Unwinding which from what I read is like Itaniums. It also looks like this is the one implemented in LLVM and most everyone cares about. I understand in the face of optimizations the

handling duplicate names deterministically and adding alternative checksum algorithms
Thanks, rsync developers, for creating such a great tool. I'm a member of a team of system administrators and integrators that use rsync with SystemImager and Cfengine to rapidly deploy and prescriptively maintain systems. Our current practices would benefit if rsync were enhanced to handle duplicate names deterministically as described in the todo list. If we were able to use rsync to

Select varying LS digits in long numbers?
Hi Folks, I'm trying to find a neat solution to an apparently simple problem, but one which turns out to be a bit more intricate and tricky than one might expect. Suppose I have numbers given to a large number of digits. For example 1234567021 where (though I don't know this beforehand) only the last 3 digits will be varying (and all 3 will vary). What I want is, give a vector x of

Unsigned int displaying as negative
Tim, yes, I am on a very unique architecture, just about every instruction has a signed and unsigned operation (ie, adds, addu, subs, subu, etc...) and we handle signed and unsigned somewhat differently. I'm not sure how we'll handle this yet, very worst case scenario is to propagate the info from clang but that's not ideal, obviously. Thanks for all the replies! On Wed, Feb 15,
