setup printing without a Windows PC client, how?
I am setting up Samba as a work-around for situation in a Debian/Mac OS X LAN. I have several Debian boxes and several Macs in a small LAN. A new addition is my daughter's new Mac laptop which came with Leopard installed. Older Macs connected to netatalk on a Debian Etch box, but I can't get Leopard to connect. So I'm trying to get Samba running and serving to Mac clients. The

Problem with incremental backup - copies instead of hard links
Hi there, I'm using this version of rsync: localhost:~ mzehetle$ /usr/local/bin/rsync --version rsync version 2.6.0 protocol version 27 Copyright (C) 1996-2004 by Andrew Tridgell and others HFS+ filesystem support for OSX (C)2004 Kevin A. Channel Mapping Family for Ambisonics
Hello Tim and others, Thanks for your help explaining this process on IRC. I wrote out a first draft in the RFC xml format. I have attached the xml (labeled as xml.txt so it will appear inline) and the rendered txt files. Please let me know where I can make improvements. I will upload this draft to the IETF datatracker and send it out to codec@ after addressing your comments. -------------- next

Samba4 Directory Replication
I?ve been trying to get replication working on Samba4 for a couple of weeks, with no success. I?ve tried the latest rsync?s, and today?s failure was using the Alpha9. I?m running on 64-bit Ubuntu 9.10 server, fully patched. I?ve tried to replicate the procedure as set forth by Tridge here: http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2009-September/066753.htm l My test network is

Please need help to finalize my code
Good evening dear administrators, It is with pleasure that I am writing to you to ask for help to finalize my R programming algorithm. Indeed, I attach this note to my code which deals with a case of independence test statistic . My request is to introduce the kernels using the functional data for this same code that I am sending you. So I list the lines for which we need to introduce the

can't delete older file/directory links on another local partition after `snapshot' type backup script
Thanks for looking at this, and developing rsync. Really useful program that I rely on. Bit of a newbie but I couldn't find anything on this in these archives. Hopefully it's a really stupid question! I'm trying to backup using cp -al and then rsync -auR --delete backup idea basically as per http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/#Incremental. I have a separate

What do you *mean* "when you want to use the kernels". WHICH kernels? Use to do WHAT? In your browser, visit cran.r-project.org then select "Packages" from the list on the left. Then pick the alphabetic list. Now search for 'kernel'. You will find dozens of matches. On Wed, 14 Oct 2020 at 05:15, PIKAL Petr <petr.pikal at precheza.cz> wrote: > Hm. Google tells

[LLVMdev] Moving CVS Files
Any reason not to upgrade to subversion? It does a much better job with handling moved or renamed files although svn doesn't actually store a 'move' or a 'rename' as a single versioned operation. fail: doveadm backup -s "<state>" with a huuge number of mailboxes
Hello, I'm using 2.2.13. For syncing I'm using repetitions of about the following (simplified for readability): state_file=.s doveadm \ -o imapc_master_user=<master> \ -o imapc_password=<pw> \ -o imapc_host=<host> \ -o mail_fsync=never \ backup -s "$(<.s)" -u "<user>" -R

Doveadm backup stateful synchronization trouble
Hi, The non-blocking error is: doveadm(user1s at domain): Error: Saved sync state is invalid, falling back to full sync: Invalid base64 data This error occurs every time on my test machine (no traffic, only a few test messages). That error sometime also occurs on my production system, but not each time. The command I used for the first time is : doveadm backup -A -s "" -d >

Hi, I tried to use ATrpms (http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot-2.0.11-1_126.src.rpm) to rebuild the rpms. It is shown the error message as following: configure: error: unrecognized option: --docdir=/usr/share/doc/dovecot-2.0.11 Try `./configure --help' for more information. I checked `./configure --help', it did contain the '--docdir' option. I don't know how to fix it. Then I

bi monthly based Mail/News backup scheme
I'm looking for a way to accomplish this goal without too much regular intervention. I want to backup.. but no thats not really the word I need here. It is a backup but also a continuing non-deleting collection of what comes on the spools over time. So the backup will never look like or mirror the src, except on the first run. It is NNTP and Mail spools (in one numbered file per message
