I am currently using FreeBSD 6 but it seems that it doesn''t fully support Xen. I did some searching around and also notice some posts on mailing lists mentioning some trouble with the CentOS 4 distribution (something about the

Good afternoon everyone. I'm testing out the new samba 3 (3.0.1 to be exact) with openldap 2.1.22. ( have setup a samba 2.2.8a with openldap 2.0.27 as a PDC in the past) I've read up on a few pages about some of the reqs that are needed: http://www.unav.es/cti/ldap-smb/smb-ldap-3-howto.html I've followed the Samba How-To as well. I edited my slapd.conf file and added the correct

Samba-3.0.1pre1 and LDAP
Hiya, I have recently upgrade samba to 3.0.1pre1 from alpha3-19. The upgrade went well with no real problems, except ..... I have noticed today that the load on the LDAP server is extremely high. CPU usage on slapd is anywhere between 10%-80%. At one point to day everything came to a grinding halt. The only difference between I can think of is the samba upgrade. This is with an average load of

BUIILTIN accounts with Samba 3.0.24 + LDAP
I'm having a problem with BUILTIN accounts on a Samba 3.0.24 PDC with an LDAP backend on Ubuntu. I followed this guide for setting up the server: http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/happy.html ...and everything worked well until I migrated all the user, machine, and group accounts from the old domain and the PDC went into production this morning. Once the machine went live, I

rsync read block size
Hi All We want to use rsync to backup a live Berkley db to a remote site. BDB has a requirement that read has to be in the unit of db page size. So wonder how could we make sure that rsync can follow that? If we need to change the code, where we should begin to look at? Thanks! Ming

No predefined Groups
Hello, I have set up a Samba-Server (samba-3.0.23a-0.1.34.x86_64.rpm and after that samba-3.0.23c-0.1.36.x86_64.rpm) as PDC and tdbsam-passdb backend. I can add XP-Computers and Users to the Domain, but the Domain-Users has problems with Access-Rights on the Win-XP-Systems. The Reason is (i think so) that samba has not generated the typical Groups: Result from 'net groupmap list' =>

Request to update slapd.conf and OpenLDAP info for Samba-Guide/happy.html
Dear Team, The OpenLDAP stuff on this page: http://us4.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/happy.html is not the preferred backend, i.e. ldbm, it really, really needs to be bdb. See: http://www.openldap.org/faq/index.cgi?_highlightWords=bdb%20ldbm&file=1085 "ldbm uses a neutral storage interface which in principle could wrap dbm, ndbm, gdbm or sleepycat as underlying storage;
