opensolaris crash in vn_rele()
My newly upgraded opensolaris 2008.11 laptop crashed last weekend.
(The OS was installed from the os 2008.11 live-cd and then upgraded
using the package manager to snv_111.)
I was trying to copy a large virtual pc image from my wife''s imac to the
laptop. On a whim I had decided to create a separate zvol in the
root pool to contain the image, figuring I could create a vbox

Installing s9u8
Hi,
I am trying to install s9u8 as a dumU on an snv_111 dom0 using:
virt-install --hvm --name s9u8 --ram 512 --vnc \
--os-type=solaris --os-variant=solaris9 \
--network bridge=stub0 \
-f/dev/zvol/dsk/rpool/xvm/guests/s9u8/disk0 \
--cdrom /Images/sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd.iso
To boot from the iso image, I needed to make a manual selection of the enabled
drivers and remove a PCMCIA driver.

dom0 won''t boot - iwlagn MAC is in deep sleep
Hi all,
I''ve got a T61p running ubuntu 9.10, it runs kernel 2.6.31.20-server
perfectly with no hiccups. I recently decided to play around, and compiled a
2.6.32-10 pvops kernel, and installed xen-4.0.0-rc9. When I try and boot as
dom0, sometimes it works, and sometimes it loops an Error message: *iwlagn:

Keymap definitions via virsh XML definition?
Hi,
up to this point, I had never bothered about local keymap settings for my domUs
because I only ever used RDP to access windows domains and serial for
solaris/linux, but today I really needed to use the VNC console with a german
keyboard layout. This is still on snv_111
I had tried setting

zfs hanging during reads
Hi, I hope there''s someone here who can possibly provide some assistance.
I''ve had this read problem now for the past 2 months and just can''t get to the bottom of it. I have a home snv_111b server, with a zfs raid pool (4 x Samsung 750GB SATA drives). The motherboard is a ASUS M2N68-CM (4 SATA ports) with an Athlon LE1620 single core CPU and 4GB of RAM. I am using it

ZFS recovery tools
Hi,
I have just recovered from a ZFS crash. During the antagonizing time this took, I was surprised to
learn how undocumented the tools and options for ZFS recovery we''re. I managed to recover thanks
to some great forum posts from Victor Latushkin, however without his posts I would still be crying
at night...
I think the worst example is the zdb man page, which all it does is to ask you

XCP: VM installation in XCP 0.5 is behaving strangely
Hi, all
I''m totally new to XCP, so maybe i misunderstood the documentation.
I tried to create Debian Squeeze (64-bit) and Ubuntu 10.04 from templates and install them from network installation.
For Debian Squeeze (64-bit), I did the followings:
1. First ssh login into XCP host
2. xe vm-install template="Debian Squeeze (64-bit)" new-name-label=lenny-64-netinstall
