Newbie can''t get sample/etc/wizard.rb to work
Hello,
I''ve downloaded wxruby onto windows (ruby 1.8.6 (2007-03-13 patchlevel 0)
[i386-mswin32]).
All samples are working fine, except for wizard.rb, which gets:

instabilities in wxRuby 1.9.6
I have recently started to use wxRuby, because I have used the wxWidgets
library from C++ for a few years and found it an excellent toolkit. I am
using Ubuntu 8.04 and version 1.9.6 of wxRuby.
A problem though is a number of instabilities. This may be due to my own
ignorance, but I have usually found C++/wxWidgets, once the program compiles
it will at least stay working, if at times

wxruby unfriendly to other threads?
I''ve seen a few e-mails about multithreading with respect to wxruby
but nothing recent. Unless I''m mistaken, and that may be, there
still appear to be problems.
The following code seems to hang my spawned thread in favor of the
wxruby event loop:
Thread.new do
puts "in thread"
loop do
sleep 5
puts "looping"
end
end

WxRuby Newbie Application Hanging
I have a WxRuby application that takes a few inputs from the user and
uses that information to search through a large file for matches. The
application works very well, with one exception. If I click anywhere
in the frame while the application is searching through the long file,
the application hangs. Has anyone experienced anything similar to
this? Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thanks

Wx::Notebook tabs, bug reports on...
Thank you Alex for the answer to my previous question --
it was exactly what I was looking for!
Moving on, I have some bugs to report:
I''m using the Wx::Notebook class and it looks to me
like Wx::NB_LEFT, Wx::NB_RIGHT, and Wx::NB_BOTTOM are
defined incorrectly. To get my tabs to appear on the
bottom, for example, I find I have to use Wx::NB_LEFT.

wxRuby 1.9.7 released
Hi
wxRuby 1.9.7 is now available from rubyforge. This release is mainly to
restore one-step gem installation for Windows users, so they can easily
benefit from the many enhancements and fixes that were included in
1.9.6. The gem will now install Microsoft''s VC version 8.0 dlls. As
usual ''gem install wxruby'' should get you the latest version.

wxRuby: MemoryDC problems...
I''m trying to put together a quick test of buffered animation with
WxRuby, but I''m encountering a fair amount of trouble... I''m drawing
to a Wx::Bitmap first, then using Wx::DC#draw_bitmap to copy it to a
Wx::Window. But I get the following error:

Scrolling / wxPanel / wxFlexGridSizer
I have a problem getting scroll bars to become active. Scrollbars
appear but do not actually scroll. The problem I am trying to
solve is to list a large number of key/value pairs. I looked
to use PropertyGrid but did not find it in wxruby 2.0.1. I''m
really stuck and would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Dave

WxRuby + Ruby/SDL
Hi,
I am making a game with Ruby/SDL and have run into trouble finding a GUI
to cooperate. I have seen numerous examples of wxWindows in combination
with SDL (wxPython and PyGame), but have yet to be able to do it in ruby
(PyGame example: http://wiki.wxpython.org/index.cgi/IntegratingPyGame).
I am not very good with wxRuby as this is my first time using it and

xrc file and WxGrid
Has anyone any experience with using a XRC file that setsup a Wx::Grid?
I''m using wxFormBuilder, in which I setup a grid in a boxsizer, with
column names and all. But when I render it via Ruby the grid is just a
small empty gray box, and I can''t seem to manipulate it at all. I
tried adding columns, resizing columns, populating it with data, etc.
but still nothing.

wxRIDE Finally Available
Hello fellow wxRuby users,
Well, after a long period in which I originally announced that I was
creating an IDE, I have finally become satisfied enough to release a SVN
Version of wxRIDE. I started the project out, and in cases where I couldn''t
launch the application again, I utilized SciTE (Which uses Scintilla, same
as wxRIDE), outside of that initial part, and subsequent failures to
