alternative for Amazon SQS for ruby
I need to use ElasticMQ in my rails project. But I dont see any references which have used elasticmq with rails projects. I know that Amazon SQS queuing system can be implemented with the help of right_aws gem(an adapter which is used to connect to Amazon SQS). So I am searching for a similar kind of gem/adapter which will support for both ElasticMQ as well as AmazonSQS. I tried ElasticMQ with

Web crawler - spider and Amazon Web Servces (AWS)
I need to create a web crawler and the closest thing to a tutorial I''ve found so far is this article: http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=1182 wich I think I found via RubyInside or some blog. It uses some of Amazone Web Services, mainly SQS, but this would be my first time outsourcing a process to a third party and I would like to know if someone in the

[RFC PATCH 0/9] vhost-nvme: new qemu nvme backend using nvme target
Hi, This is the first attempt to add a new qemu nvme backend using in-kernel nvme target. Most code are ported from qemu-nvme and also borrow code from Hannes Reinecke's rts-megasas. It's similar as vhost-scsi, but doesn't use virtio. The advantage is guest can run unmodified NVMe driver. So guest can be any OS that has a NVMe driver. The goal is to get as good performance as

possum sleeping: thanks and fisher.test() FEXACT error
Dear helplist Many many thanks to everyone who helped me. The trick was to use tabulate() or, better, tab <- rep(0,50) names(tab) <- 1:50 tab[names(table(sleeps))] <- table(c) My original dataset was a list of 50 trees and a length 12 vector recording which tree a certain possum slept in on 12 nights. As Professor Ripley points out, a Monte-Carlo simulation is easy to set up, and it

Hi, I rebooted a old Centos 5 box and now its stuck in an ever increasing timeout loop; nss_ldap: reconnecting tl LDAP server (sleeping # seconds).... This happens before network services starts. Any one know how I can break out of this? I tried booting in single user mode from the grub menu but no dice, the thing keeps nss_ldap looping. Thanks in advance, - aurf

Where & Why is my process sleeping a lot?
I have a program where the process seems to be sleeping a lot (waiting on something) What would be the right approach to figure out via dtrace where it is sleeping and why it is sleeping? In my current process, using truss -D shows that it reaches pollsys and the whole process sleeps for 1.5 - 1.8 seconds before it awakes again. Its the only significant process running on this two CPU

I' ve just recently started using linux, so my knowledge is limited. however, i have installed wind on Linux Mint 7. i may have installed the wrong one because i installed the ubuntu version and not the debian version. if this is the case. well, that may be part of the problem. all the same, i downloaded the game from direct2drive, just as i did when i was in windows 7 RC. i extracted,

Restoring Windows to Minimzed State after Sleeping
When I resume working on my computer running Centos 6.7 after sleeping, terminal windows, file directories and the applications are restored. However, terminal windows and file directories that were minimized before going to sleep are opened to the size and location they had before being minimized. I'd like for all windows that were minimized to be restored to this very state - is this
