I have been experimenting with autotest and I have a few questions.

these tests are run and the features are not. Is this intended
behaviour?
2. given require ''autotest/redgreen'' in .autotest if /test tests are run

Cucumber and autotest
Hey all,
Does anyone know how to disable the cucumber autotest support on a
project? With this commit:
http://github.com/aslakhellesoy/cucumber/commit/93470e2580b5e3cfe0c8eb3fce86e21bf8afa219
The cucumber features are worked into the autotest cycle automatically.
This is cool, but on some projects I don''t think it fits well with my
red->green->refactor cycle. Any ideas on

how to make ZenTest autotest run whenever my tests change
Railsters:
Despite Rails being the only Web platform designed for TDD, a lot of its test
infrastructure is still "cargo cult" - imitating other test rigs instead of
understanding their principles.
Most importantly, tests should run instantly. There''s no excuse for breaking
this rule, and if you invent a platform that can''t obey it then you are doing

Autotest, cucumber, spork and the wrong file
Running:
Rails 3.0.5
ZenTest 4.5.0
autotest (4.4.6, 4.3.2)
autotest-fsevent (0.2.5, 0.2.2)
autotest-growl (0.2.9, 0.2.4)
autotest-rails (4.1.0)
autotest-rails-pure (4.1.2, 4.1.0)
cucumber (0.10.2)
cucumber-rails (0.4.0)
spork (0.9.0.rc4)
Gives me a truly bizarre situation. When I touch my features file,
autotest runs a single, unrelated rspec test.
Cucumber alone or with spork gives me the

Selenium+Autotest: how to run browser in background?
Hey guys
After hours of hard work I finally managed to set up my development
environment to run cucumber scenarios using autotest and selenium.
What''s a bit bugging is the fact that Firefox always jumps to the
foreground when Autotest does its job. How can I keep Firefox in the
background so that I can continue with my work without being
interrupted?
Thanks!

Cucumber: Setting Dependency among scenarios
Hi,
I am planning to use cucumber-java for my java project for automated
testing. I would like to know if there is any option in cucumber, by
which we can explicitly provide dependency among running scenarios. For
example:
I have a ValidateProfile.java and a ProfileSignIn.java.
public class ValidateProfile {
...
public ValidatedProfile validate(String userName, String

Ambigous error while running cucumber features
Hello,
I was just trying out a cucumber-java example with selenium
integrated. My feature file has two scenarios and while executing the
command "cucumber features", It is executing the first scenario
succesfully, but for the second scenario I am getting the ambiguity
error (Cucumber::Ambiguous):

Running both autotest and rspec_autotest
Hi,
Is it possible to run both autotest and rspec_autotest at the same
time while I convert my tests over to specs? autotest seems to either
want to run one or the other.
Also, rspec_autotest doesn''t seem to red/green the error/successes.
It should, right?
Thanks,
Joe

Using rspec in a non-rails project w/ autotest
Not sure if anyone needs this, but I have successfully been running
rspec/trunk with autotest for a few days now on a non-rails project.
The process is pretty simple:
1. Put rspec into vendor/plugins/rspec (on externals, or simply frozen)
2. Add autotest/discover.rb:
Autotest.add_discovery do
"myproj"
end
3. Add autotest/myproj.rb:
require File.dirname(__FILE__) +

Error on Autotest start
I have been using autotest/zentest 3.5.0 with my rails 2.0.2 and rspec. I
upgraded my gems and got 3.9.3 and had a problem. I went back to 3.5.0 and
it worked. I stayed there until moving to rails 2.1. I again updated my gems
and got 3.10. This one had the same problem. This time I need to figure out
what is wrong. Here is what I get:

Autotest just sits there
I have had this problem for a while.
autotest has never worked properly for me. I have tried different
versions of rspec with different versions of ZenTest. I have tried it
with .autotest files and without.
When I run autotest from my rails app root, it says:
loading autotest/rails_rspec
and then it just sits there.
If I look at the output from autotest -v, it is traversing the tree and

autotest & rspec2
Hi guys,
I''m trying to find some information on how to get autotest to run the
rspec2 tests. I have my project setup so "rake spec" runs the specs
properly, but autotest seems to ignore/don''t know that there are specs
to test.
I read on the rspec2 wiki that autotest integration is o be added
eventually. Any ideas on how to achieve this?
Thanks,
Jeroen

Playing Sounds with Autotest/RSpec on Cygwin
I''ve read about integrating Growl with Autotest/RSpec to display test results.
For cygwin users - here is a snippet that will play a sound after autotest runs.
Add the code below to your ~/.autotest file.
Modify the path of the .wav file to the sounds you want to play on your system.
Cheers, Andy

AssociationTypeMismatch with RSpec 1.0.8, autotest running with drb
Before I chalk this up as a bug and report it, I just want to make sure I''m not
doing something silly.
Running ZenTest''s autotest on OS 10.4.10 with RSpec 1.0.8, drb, produces the
following failed test:
ActiveRecord::AssociationTypeMismatch in ''User should create an avatar with
uploaded_data''
Avatar expected, got Avatar

Combining autotest, rspec, rspec_on_rails and spec-server
Hello,
I''ve been trying to google the definitive way to combine autotest,
rspec, and spec-server, but to no avail. It seems like there are lots
of suggestions from old versions. Furthermore, some commands such as
rake:autotest don''t seem to be around anymore.
So, is it required to install ZenTest as a gem? I have version 3.9.1.
I believe this gets me the autotest

Autotest rspec issues
I''m having trouble getting autotest to run "out of the box" with rspec.
I''ve got a Leopard setup with Zentest 3.5.0, rspec on trunk, and rails
2.0PR. No ".autotest" file.
There are a couple of issues:
1. Running ''autotest'' inititally yields a command not found for "spec
--diff unified etc etc". This seems to be an old issue but

Autotest is running continuously - even when the files mtimes aren''t
