Disk Space Problems with Rsync.
I have a problem with rsync causing a filesystem to think that it is 100% used when actually it isn't. A quick reboot will cause the filesystem to go to about 70%-75% used. Below is the script that I am executing. I am using Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf) Kernel 2.4.9-34smp on a 2-processor i686. Does anyone have any idea on what causes this and how to fix this? #!/bin/bash export

Samba 4.6.2 does not inherit setgid bit (anymore)
Hi Lorenzo and Dale, My setup is like Lorenzo's completely based on setgid being propagated. The filesystem should determine the group used starting at a certain directory. Different "root" directories have different groups, and security is based on groups, not users. I tried all sorts of settings combinations, alseo "force directory mode = 2770", but none propagates

Samba 4.6.2 does not inherit setgid bit (anymore)
thanks for suggestion, in other words you use only ACLs for users denying all for groups, unfortunately we had many group such as domain users, secretary, finance, etc belonging to users for which we need to apply at least 770 in order to gain a simplified permission management using groups the actual dirty workaround I applied was to track new files/dir by tailing with follow ( tail -f ) a

OCFS not releasing space?
I have noticed that OCFS is not updating the filesystem space stats when datafiles are reduced in size: is this Bug 62, and if so is there an expected fix date? ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.11-1 ocfs-support-1.0.10-1 ocfs-tools-1.0.10-1 Linux sgl43d-122 2.4.9-e.35enterprise #1 SMP Wed Jan 7 15:11:27 EST 2004 i686 unknown bytes name 2097152000 /data/oracle/QSG40/u01/dtr_med_i_02.dbf /dev/sdc1

OGM and GStreamer
Well, actually most OGM files do have a subtitle track, often in multiple langauges. Also, re 2. Keyframe seeking in OGM is generally a bit rough because ogm files can contain almost any codec as the video track, usually xvid or divx. re 1. As a general rule you shouldn't be trying to make any more ogm files :) So chances are the ogg muxer is not accepting the connection, because it

Proposal: Different handling of ChrootDirectory
Hey guys, I have read all the messages regarding this issue on the mailing list and I did notice that quite a few people are not exactly happy with the new easiness of the chroot support introduced to openssh. I'm one of them and I think to support my special configuration, the implementation would need to be changed. I'm right now setting up a small web hosting company an every

Ogg Flac padding
A program to do something I don't think can be done? Tricky. How about some examples of files that show problems? Here is a basic OggFlac track, as produced by the standard flac encoder. It has a vorbis comment packet, a seektable packet, and a padding packet and works fine. Note that each packet is on a separate Ogg page. http://www.nartowicz.webspace.virginmedia.com/oggflac/01.oga

ROracle issue with shared library and RMySQL
Hello, Someone posted this same issue back in May 2003 and hasn't yet resolved the situation. I hope someone can provide some additional light. After starting R I attempt to load the ROracle library and receive the following message: > library(ROracle) Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library

Newbie question on Rsync on Solaris
I want to replicate between two Solaris hosts. The source is Solaris 2.6 and the target is Solaris 2.8. Using rsh, the basic program seems fine (not running in daemon mode), but I have a problem. The directory tree is about 150,000 files, with about 5 gb of data. I tar'd the directory and moved it to the other side, but when I run an rsync against that directory, it still wants to move

Moving ocfs file system to a new SAN
Hi, We are currently rolling over our SAN (FC4700 to CX700) and have now reached the data migration stage. I need to move the data files on my current /u01 ocfs file system (on FC4700) to a new ocfs file system (on CX700) which I want to keep as the same /u01 mount point on the hosts. With a normal file system I would just mount the new file system to a temporary mount point, copy the data,

ZFS Corruption
Please reply directly to me. Seeing the message below. Is it possible to determine exactly which file is corrupted? I was thinking the OBJECT/RANGE info may be pointing to it but I don''t know how to equate that to a file. # zpool status -v pool: u01 state: ONLINE status: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. AW: Re: Final Post/Lack of support
Hi all, it was really just a lack of time that I did not respond to all mails and I apologize for that. I just want to give a few statements about ..ogm and further development of the DirectShow filters: As Christian already outlined it wasn't my idea to change the extension to ".ogm". Anyway I added code for registering this extension due to some requests. I also think that it is

Final Post/Lack of support
Hi, I went to the official xiph channel on IRC (openprojects) to try once more to get some support for the *.ogm stuff we did. I think there still is and always will be the need for this extension, out of _well_ known reasons. I was in a bad mood for all the stuff which happened the last months regarding the ogg container being called ogm to indicate that this isn't meant for a music
