Call for testing: OpenSSH-6.0
Hi,
OpenSSH 6.0 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing
on as many platforms and systems as possible. This release contains a
couple of new features and changes and bug fixes. Testing of the new
sandboxed privilege separation mode (see below) would be particularly
appreciated.

I want to keep the list as open as possible, but will close it if
it gets spammed repeatedly. My definition of "repeatedly" at the

Administrivia: spam
Hi,
I'm sure you have all noticed the recentincrease in spam making
it through the list filters. I guess this is due to the spammers
adopting techniques specifically intended to evade SpamAssassin.
Over the next week, I will be adding add some extra anti-spam
measures to the list. Hopefully this will stop this abuse. Until
then, patience please.
Thanks,
Damien Miller

Problem in RSA Key authentication
Hello Damien,
I am using OpenSSH-5.0 on my ARM board. I want to perform RSA
authentication, but server is not accepting the key generated by the
client. I have copied the authorized_keys in the "$HOME/.ssh/" folder
and provided permission (755) to that folder. Please help me how to
solve this problem.

[PATCH]: openssh.spec file for SuSE 6.4 & 7.0
Attached is a spec file for OpenSSH on SuSE 6.4 and 7.0 systems.
It differs from the current spec file in the following details:
- Only one rpm file is created containing client and server files.
- PreReq `openssl-devel' is changed to `openssl'.
- Path '/usr/libexec/ssh' is changed to '/usr/lib/ssh' for
ssh-askpass and gnome-ssh-askpass.

Running sshd with Privilege Seperation drops connection on password change
Hi Darren/Damien,
Sorry for responding so late. Still hope we can get this sorted out.
Yes I am indeed using PAM for ssh authentication and disabling priv seperation is a no-go for us since it opens up a security loophole.
From what I can see in ptree and auth logs, when the child passwd process returns with SIGCHLD, the parent sshd process terminates.
Sshd logs are as follows as requested at
