[PATCH]: Remove HAVE_CYGWIN in favor of NO_IPPORT_RESERVED_CONCEPT
Hi,
I've sent that patch once already but it seems more or less forgotten
in the tumultuous days of the latest vulnerability.
It adds a new define NO_IPPORT_RESERVED_CONCEPT which can be defined
on platforms not supporting the concept of "privileged" ports only
accessible by privileged users but which allow everyone to use these
ports.
This patch removes some Cygwin dependencies

Sigh.
How about putting it in defines.h instead? includes.h includes
netinet/in.h from whence the definition of IPPORT_RESERVED

[PATCH] Drop SETGROUPS_NOOP
Hi,
the SETGROUPS_NOOP define is used only for Cygwin. But it's also
combined with the HAVE_SETGROUPS test in bsd-misc.c. So, since
setgroups() exists and is functional in Cygwin, this is actually a
noop in the more general sense. The below patch drops that entirely.

Patch for 'packet.c' in openssh-3.6.1p1
Hello,
I just managed to compile openssh-3.6.1p1 on Ultrix/MIPS. One of the fixes
needed for this is the following. It's because of:
--- According to the Changelog
- markus at cvs.openbsd.org 2002/12/10 19:26:50
[packet.c]
move tos handling to packet_set_tos; ok provos/henning/deraadt

This IP_TOS is now nicely stuffed in a function, but that function should

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1: HP-UX 11.00 64-bit
I have encountered a problem with using OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on 64-bit HP-UX
11.00 systems. This bug does not exhibit itself on any 32-bit HP-UX
11.00 or HP-UX 10.20 systems that I have built 2.3.0p1 on. OpenSSH
2.3.0p1 was built with HPs ANSI C compiler with OpenSSL 0.9.6 and zlib
1.1.3.
The problem is with the call to vhangup(2) in sshd when interactive
sessions are started. The problem does not

SunOS 4.x port
This is based on openssh-2.0.0beta1. There are a few rough spots:
1) SunOS doesn't have ut_type in struct utmp so I just whacked
in the old login() from openssh-1.2.3.
2) There is a SUNOS4 section added to defines.h -- this could probably
be a bit cleaner.
3) sigaction on SunOS is implemented via #defines to sigvec, thus there
is no SA_RESTART (this is the default behavior).

TCP_NODELAY always set, now?
I know that there was a discussion on this about a year back, and
there is a bug 556 this week that mentions TCP_NODELAY.
However, when I use ssh through a pipe (e.g., to tunnel through an
HTTP proxy using CONNECT) I see:
getsockopt TCP_NODELAY: Socket operation on non-socket
How do I tell which end is generating this (I'm assuming the local
side, which is running through the pipe).
Also,

ssh hangs or gives Segmentation fault
Details of installation attached.
Effect: when I build and test (with full path names) ssh in the openssh...
directory, everything works fine. When I "install" it as per attached file
into a test-directory and run it from there, there are 2 phenomena:
either it just hangs, eating 96% of CPU
or it dies with a Segmentation fault (this is what happens most often)

[PATCH]: configure.in
Hi,
it would be nice if somebody could apply the following patch. After
some months of maintaining the Cygwin version of OpenSSH it finally
turned out that USE_PIPES is the better option for Cygwin. It's
working more reliable than socketpairs and it's WAY faster.

Problem building openssh-4.3p2 under cygwin and windows XP
I am trying to build openssh-4.3p2 portable source under Cygwin running
under Windows XP SP2.
I have installed Cygwin 1.5.19-4 along with these significant packages
(installed using the cygwin setup program):
gcc 3.4.4-1
minires-devel 1.00-1
openssl 0.9.8a-1
openssl-devel 0.9.8a-1
openssl097 0.9.7i-1
tcp_wrappers 7.6-1
zlib 1.2.3-1
I used the instructions in openssh-4.3p2/contrib./cygwin/README

openssh-4.3p2: setsockopt() problem
List,
I'm behind a dlink DSL-G604T wireless router. ssh client was hanging at:
debug1: Entering interactive session.
Telnet was having a similar problem to port 22, however a simple client.c
I compiled was not. My java ssh client was also working. After some
investigation, I noticed that the hang was after the system call:
setsockopt(3, SOL_IP, IP_TOS, [16], 4) = 0
I noticed also that

dovecot & cap_net_admin capability
Hi,
we've seen SELinux reports from our users that dovecot tried to use
something that needs CAP_NET_ADMIN capability. Before enabling it, we
would like to know where it originated from. I've checked the sources,
but was not able to find anything that would require this capability. Do
you know for what it is used?
