We are preparing to release another stable OpenSSH soon, so once
again we are asking for your help in testing CVS snapshots.
Changes include:
* ssh(1) now allows the optional specification of an address to bind to
in port forwarding connections (local, remote and dynamic). See the

Test Status OpenSSH 7.1 P2 on HPE NSE
Hi All,
Just reporting in on how testing has gone. After reducing obs to 32k max and
banners to a max of 10000, plus some minor platform changes - root is not 0,
for example, all normal tests have passed except for:
multiplex - hangs at the end of this output. We had a similar issue that
single reads of data were not working in dd but that does not seem to be the
case in this test suite.

uid transition and post-auth privsep (WAS Re: possible fundamental problem with tru64 patch) (fwd)
What do we loose by not having post-auth privsep?
What code is executed between authorization and actual setting of the
effective uid?

Testing Call
Ok.. I'm starting official testing calls early this release. I'd like to
have more feedback and more time for handling fixes.
If people could test snapshots (http://www.openssh.org/portable.html, pick
your favorate mirror and select snapshots directory) and report failures
it would be useful.
For those with pmake install there is regress/ which you can try out. It
may help any platform

Openssh installation only works for user root
Hi,
I have recently compiled a copy of OpenSSH for use on Reliant Unix ( Sinix )
version 5.45. My installation works okay for user root. When I try to log on
as another user I get prompted for the user password. When I type this in
OpenSSH throws me out each time. I have been able to see any errors.
My version is OpenSSH_3.8p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar

tru64 unix openssh-3.4p1 problems
Hi,
I'm attempting to get openssh-3.4p1 up and running on our DEC/Compaq
Alpa workstations.
They are running Tru64 Unix 5.1A. I compile the package myself.
Openssh-3.1 worked perfectly, with the default sshd_config file.
Openssh-3.4p1 works, if I set UsePrivilegeSeparation to "no" in the
sshd_config file.
NOTE: I have a secondary issue with the ListenAddress default setting

Hi,

and fixes for some of our most recalcitrant bugs.

Solaris privsep and compression.
Has anybody got privsep and compression working together on Solaris
2.6 and 2.5.1? I have no problem getting it working under Solaris 8, but
on 2.5.1/2.6 it says:
# ./sshd -p 6666
This platform does not support both privilege separation and compression
Compression disabled

Last call.
Outside the pre-auth patch by Markus to fix Cygwin and a few other
platforms.
SEND ME (privately) ANY required patch against the lastest snapshot.
I'm doing the final commits this evening.
Patches that have been temporary rejected for this release.
- Owl's full patch for SysV Shm if mmap fails
- mmap() on /dev/zero
- mmap() on sparse file
.. Not looked at the BSD/OS 5.0 patch
