Trouble authenticating to Samba shares with Win 2k3 ADS
I may have a deficiency in understanding the procedure for ADS authentication with samba, but most of the server setup works so far. I have bound a Red Hat Enterprise 5 server to our windows domain, it shows up in DNS and ADS, I can ping it, but I can't get samba shares to be accessible to users, or even get the smbclient to return shares properly. wbinfo -g returns the domain groups

Problem with keytab: "Client not found in Kerberos database"
I finally found it, thanks to a clue from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Active_Directory_Integration This works: kinit -k -t /etc/krb5.keytab 'WRN-RADTEST$' These don't work: kinit -k -t /etc/krb5.keytab kinit -k -t /etc/krb5.keytab host/wrn-radtest.ad.example.net kinit -k -t /etc/krb5.keytab host/wrn-radtest That is: the keytab contains three different principals: root

winbind + rpc windows
Hi, I've managed to configure winbind to use RPC instead of AD to authenticate users. I was able to do a few auths and from nothing winbind started to crash with the following error message: Any hint on what may be the error? I've already deleted all tdb files and restarted the services, and the server, and don't get it solved. [2009/07/29 14:19:01, 0] winbindd/

Internal login failure
Hello, I am fairly new to Dovecot, so please forgive me if I am missing something obvious here. I have checked the archived dovecot mailing list messages and have Googled for everything I can think of, and I still have not found anything to help me solve this problem. I am running Postfix+Postgresql+Dovecot on my Fedora FC2 box. I have compiled both Postfix and Dovecot from source. I believe

After I've configured dovecot for SSL according to the info given in the link below: ? ?https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-6671 (tried both POP3 & secure POP3 & got the same result) I tested POP3 access from my unblocked (no firewall rule for outgoing) broadband PC's Outlook to connect to the postfix/dovecot server & got the following : Tasks ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

SSH fail to login due to hang over after authenticated.
I don't think it will be easy to identify the problem remotely. You can try logging in with password (if not disabled), or sshing with some other key, or logging into some other user. If you are able to get access to the machine, post the server's error log here. On Mon, Oct 24, 2016 at 9:55 PM, Jin Li <lijin.abc at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Tanmay, > > The server is not

ASMTP setup on 4.8
Hello, I'm trying to set up a sendmail server on 4.8 that supports auth-based relaying. I followed the procedures at http://puresimplicity.net/~hemi/freebsd/sendmail.html, and aside from having to run makes manually in the library directories, I had no difficulty. I did not use the rebuild world recommendation, though. Everything is up and running, but whenever I try to send mail

Why is dovecot involved in my smtp process
I've been trying to get smtp auth set up for days. All my sendmail and sasl2 stuff seems to be proper, but the user can't use the system on port 587, which is where I require authorization. Now I see where messages are in my maillog of the type: auth: pam_unix(dovecot:auth) : authentication failure ........ Why is dovecot involved in my smtp processes and how do I fix this. I've

selinux policy remnant according to /bin/ls on CentOS 6.0 box
I installed CentOS 6.0 on 2 different x86_64 boxen. Both originally had selinux installed and enabled. I never touched selinux other than to remove as much of it as I could via rpm -e. As far as I can tell, here are the remaining packages that have something to do with it: # rpm -qa | grep -iE 'sel|pol' checkpolicy-2.0.22-1.el6.x86_64 libselinux-2.0.94-2.el6.x86_64

Configuring Samba with LDAP
Hello, I'm having problems configuring Samba to work using ADS. I've successfully compiled LDAP. When I try ./configure --with-pam --with-winbind --with-ads --with-krb5 --with-ldap It says "Active Directory support requires LDAP support" Are there any variables that need to be set? I've done --with-ldap=/usr/local/openldap (This the prefix for openldap). I'm

pam and sasl2-sample-server failure
I'm setting up a postfix server using "The Book of Postfix". In ch 15 there is a section on testing saslauthd which I can't get to work. I can get it to work using shadow password authentication, but it fails on pam. I don't kow squat about troubleshooting pam. Any PAM wizzes out there that can help? I saw a unrelated post talking about something needing to be in the pam
