Does ssh need sendfd in pledge() call?
Hi, I posted this question to the OpenBSD bugs list last week, however I have had no reply and it was suggested on IRC that I post here instead. So I must apologise if this is not appropriate. For a reference here is my previous post: https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-bugs&m=156080681530337&w=2 I am running OpenBSD 6.5-stable (also tested on -current). When I ssh somewhere I get a sig abort

question on using keys
I've read man ssh and man ssh-keygen and some howtos and still am not getting what I expect. I can do ssh john at 192.168.15.3 and login with a password OK. I want to be able to do that with keys in preparation for running rsync with keys, so I created a key on router1, the machine I want to ssh from. routem at router1:~/.ssh$ lla total 20 drwx------ 2 routem routem 4096 2009-03-08 09:55 .

Hello, Recently, the FreeBSD base system OpenSSH was upgraded to OpenSSH_5.1p1 FreeBSD-20080901, OpenSSL 0.9.8e 23 Feb 2007 Before the upgrade, with OpenSSH_4.5p1 FreeBSD-20061110, OpenSSL 0.9.7e-p1 25 Oct 2004 I had no troubles connecting to the ssh server built-in into the HP Proliant G5 ILO management board, authenticating by id_dsa, v2 protocol. [Portable OpenSSH] hang up during login after OpenSSH 7.3 upgrade
Hello to everyone, and thank for your job. I am reporting here about a problem I am experiencing with portable SSH client, version 7.3p1. My client is an Archlinux system. I am connecting to an Ubuntu server, which provides SSH with some patches (see below). It worked until the upgrade to 7.3p1. This is the produced debug output. Command line: ssh -v -v -v -v -v -v username at 10.196.37.5

Axway XFB sftp server & no-more-sessions@openssh.com
Hello all, First of all, thank you for such great software. I have a bug (and a fix) to report for 5.1p: The "Axway XFB.Gateway" SFTP server will drop sftp sessions initiated from the OpenSSH 5.1p (HP-UX) sftp if it receives the "no-more-sessions at openssh.com" flag. It can be reproduced also with the sftp sessions initiated from a OpenSSH 5.1p sftp on a Linux machine. As

5.1p1 doesn't work, 5.0p1 works fine
5.1p1 disconnects after the password prompt when connecting to my router and UPS. 5.1p1 connects fine to other unix hosts, and my Windows client connects fine to 5.1p1 servers. 5.0p1 works fine everywhere. I've tried ssh -T, ssh -t, permutations with ssh -o Compression=no -o TCPKeepAlive=no, etc, to no avail. I've used the default ssh_config file, and it still fails. Can anyone

5.1p on RHEL 3 and password expiration
[ Sorry for the length of this; I felt it better to provide potentially too much info, rather than not enough. I've probably missed something that's important, though! ] I have an odd problem with 5.1p on RHEL3 if "UsePAM yes" and "UsePrivilegeSeparation no" is set. The code detects that the user password is aged (according to shadow) but then fails to let me

OpenSSH_4.7p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8g Host Key Verification Failed
Greetings, I am trying to cross compile OpenSSH 4.7 for ppc with QNX Neutrino as my OS. I have a workstation with QNX on it (x86) and I have linked the utils used by autoconf to their ppc versions. I have been able to successfully build sshd/ssh. I copy the binaries built on the x86 to the ppc, and sshd works great. I can ssh from any machine to it, but when I try to ssh from the ppc machine to

Hung connection over Juniper Tunnel
Hello list! So I recently reconfigured our office network to allow a permanent VPN connection to our data center. This consists of a Juniper SSG-520 connected via a tunnel to a Juniper Netscreen-25 over a 100M leased NTT VPN (yes I'm tunneling over the VPN as it's the only way to make it routable.) Here is where OpenSSH come in. When I try and ssh to a machine on the other end

Can't get LocalForward to work when using ControlPath
Hello All-- First, thanks for ControlPath/ControlMaster. It's very handy, and ControlMaster=autoask is just what i wanted! I'm having difficulty with a common use case, however. I want to LocalForward on secondary connections using an already-established ControlPath. From what i can tell, the second ssh connection doesn't report any errors, but silently ignores the supplied
