6.4 : How to enable epel and the rpmfusions??
I've installed 6.4 on an old T30 ThinkPad, and I'm in the midst of setting it up. I can't seem to get an rpm of Pan for it, nor even to do yum update. Mousing around fedoraproject eventually got me to http:// rpmfusion.org/Configuration/ and from there to downloads for the free, nonfree, and epel packages (along with a caveat that tells you -- *after* you've gotten rpmfusion

I'm trying to ... yum groupinstall "Development Tools" on a reasonably current 5.5 system and getting massive mirror failures... is there a problem, or is this my employer's network messing up? (45/74): rpm-build-4.4.2.3-20.el5_5.1.i386.rpm | 302 kB 00:03

Network guru please help: baffled by missing file
The mirrorlist entry in my Fedora-11 /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-update.repo reads: mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released- f$releasever&arch=$basearch As far as I can see, this means that yum is looking for the file metalink at mirrors.fedoraproject.org ? If I try "sudo yum update" I get: ----------------------------------- [tim at elizabeth ~]$

Yum Mirror Errors
While attempting to grab some packages from the repos I've been getting a lot of mirror errors. Anyone have any idea why? I've recently updated from CentOS 5 Beta2 to the final version and it went flawlessly. The first thing I did though was to update the centos-release packages per a previous post. I was under the impression this would take care of repo problems. Was I incorrect?

Dag mirror, yum and repomd.xml!
Hi: I have a mirror of dag repository (http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el4/en/i386/dag/) in my intranet which is used by other servers to install/update rpms. I installed on every remote server the rpmforge rpm, edit the /etc/yum.repos.d/rpmforge.repo to fit with my intranet mirror, but when I run yum, I get this error: #yum -c rpmforge.repo search nagios Warning, could not load sqlite, falling back to

yum errors
It should be looking at /6/ instead of a specific point release. We (CentOS) do not provide updates for individual point releases. You are several years behind in security and bug-fix updates. Once a specific minor version is expired, it is moved off the main mirrors and into the vault. The current iteration of the /6/ tree is 6.7, so everything below that is no longer available on the mirrors.

Yam not generating repomd.xml
I think I have obeyed the docs. Metadata in yam conf says repomd (formerly createrepo but led to "unexisting --update option" message). Conf is otherwise pretty close to examples. I have downloaded Centos 4.4 ISOs, I have done yam -gv, ISO files are correctly mounted and published via HTTP, etc but no xml files are generated anywhere under /var/www/yam. What am I overlooking? Can I have
