Audio problems in karmic-9.10
I am running wine 1.1.29 in kubuntu karmic-9.10 64-bit, and I am having a problem with audio in wine -- namely, there is none. The problem seems to be that in jaunty, there are several files installed in /usr/lib32/alsa-lib that are needed to support audio in wine, as part of the ia32-libs package. In karmic, those files are not present in the package -- there are only a couple of bluetooth

As with xcb-proto, this release mainly enables multi-planar buffers in DRI3 v1.2 via support for variable-sized lists of FDs, and enables sending GenericEvents to other clients. Recently i changed my old 6600GT with a less old HD4850, uninstalled the nvidia drivers and install the propietary catalyst last version. All run perfectly, glxinfo shows direct rendering yes and the corresponding bunch of extensions and glxgears rate clear high. But when i try to run any 3D app through wine it fails with for example: $ wine Oblivion.exe fixme:mixer:ALSA_MixerInit No master

If you hadn't nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies! It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This is an X-lib! After two candidate

adding XCB dependency
I intend to make compiz depend on XCB and Xlib/XCB sometime soon so we can start using XCB where it's beneficial [1]. I'm mostly interested in using it for asynchronous reading of window properties but we should eventually try to use it for as much as possible. Removing Xlib completely might not make sense as we need to support multiple implementations of GLX but getting to a stage where

rgl, openmesa, nvidia. Oh my!
I've caused a new problem for myself. I wonder if you have seen it. On Ubuntu 9.04 I had a lot of hangs with the nvidia packages and so I updated to the 185 edition on this website: https://launchpad.net/~nvidia-vdpau/+archive/ppa The video drivers are much better! However, I notice now I don't have all of the working pieces of the X11/openGL development toolkit in order to compile R

WineOn64Bit
Hello to all. I have a VERY important correction to this article. To compile wine on Debian Etch amd64 (kernel 2.6.17) you'll need some changes: 1. You don't need to make the X11R6 symlinks 2. The package "ia32-libs-dev" does not longer exist, you need libc6-dev-i386 3. make and make depend have to be run with LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/lib32" I hope now it is all regards,

Word 2007 slow on jaunty
Hello I've a problem with word 2007 in wine and jaunty. I've been using it in intrepid since 1.1.13 version that makes it work ok! Now It's near to perfection in intrepid with this last version (1.1.19) in my eeepc, but in my desktop (more powerfull than the eee obviously!) with jaunty it is really really slow (unusable) when you edit/write formulas and and insert shapes. Ubuntu, Counterstrike Source, crashes after loading a game
Hello, Well, first let me say - I've looked in the APP database for this game. I've tried to trouble shoot everything I've read on the site.
