"Device or Resource Busy" when deleting folders
Hi all, I have set up an LTSP environment (www.ltsp.org) for a small group of users who have migrated from WinXP. As part of the setup, and during the transition, I have created a number of folders in each user's home directory which are mapped via SMBMOUNT to the NT domain controller's home directories, and various shared data folders. When each user logs into X, a script is run

Is there a C++ API for libclang to have full access to the AST ?
Hi everyone, i want to use libclang to create my own AST and use a node system like houdini is using to write own programms with a graphical interface. But libclang does not give full access to the AST - i need to build my own AST and need full access. Since there are no books about libclang i hope someone here can point me in the right direction... best regards, Steven Truppe

Symbolic links not visible on osx 10.10
Hello, I'm using the latest git 4.2.0 samba version (4.2.0rc4-GIT-93b73bf, to get latest vfs_fruit module). I noticed the following strange behavior with OSX clients (10.10.1, 10.10.2 beta): When they connect using either smb 3.0 or 2.1 (verified on the server with `smbstatus` and the `version` column `SMB3_00` or `SMB2_10` respectively), symbolic links pointing at non existent files are not

what requires lm_sensors?
I found that lm_sensors got installed because of a dependency on my first Xen VM that I updated to 5.3. lm_sensors doesn't make sense in a VM. I thought, ok let's check after the update who wants it. However: rpm -q --whatrequires lm_sensors no package requires lm_sensors (same for --triggeredby with lm_sensors or the packages below) Trying to remove lm_sensors reveals these packages:

rsync 3-cvs missing prereqs/deps on osx
hi, as it's been awhile since my last attempts w/ v269, i'm building the latest rsync3-svs on osx 10.4.8; looking to see what's evolved re: acls & xattrs support on osx ... @ build, i note complaint abt a missing yodl2man, which originates with YODL. YODL, then requires icmake. as neither is available on osx, it's src build time. on building debian's icmake (already

rsync --delete with empty source folder for fast snapshot deletion: Permissions of hardlinked files are changed to 644. Workaround?
So I decided to do a quick test using the Linux kernel source tree since it has lots of files. I duplicated a tree, used 'find . -type f -exec chmod 444 {} +' to make read only files for rsync to want to chmod, then used cp -al to make several duplicate trees using hard linked files. An rm -rf on one such tree took .97 seconds while an rsync deletion took 1.25 seconds. Clearly I

rsync --delete with empty source folder for fast snapshot deletion: Permissions of hardlinked files are changed to 644. Workaround?
Context ------- I am one of the active developers of the open source application "Back in Time" which uses "rsync" as backend and I want to fix an open issue: "Back in Time"-Bug: https://github.com/bit-team/backintime/issues/994#issuecomment-1724211507 "Back in Time" uses "--link-dest" to reduce traffic and storage by hardlinking

Hi, all, I'm looking a utility for removing a directory from within R. Currently, I'm using: foo <- function(...) { mydir <- tempdir() dir.create(mydir, showWarnings = FALSE, recursive = TRUE) on.exit(system(sprintf("rm -rf %s", mydir))) ## do some stuff in "mydir" invisible() } However, this is assumes "rm" is available. rsync --delete with empty source folder for fast snapshot deletion: Permissions of hardlinked files are changed to 644. Workaround?
I had intended to come back to this but because I didn't really think I had anything to add to the discussion I put it at a low enough priority that I forgot about it. But I saw your bug report and was surprised to see that I was already unhelpful on this topic but because that original poster didn't have access to do an rm while you are trying to get a performance boost. I have

rsync delete
Hello :) I am trying to build a backup system based upon Rsync, and I have a question about it's deleting features. I want to be able to use rsync to delete and remove a directory from the remote server, similar to "rm -Rf directory" The closest I seem to be able to get is the following progression: # rm -Rf directory (nuke local directory) # mkdir directory (recreat as empty

I decided to start again and delete all windows applications. I followed the direction on the Wiki FAQ to type Code: rm -rf $HOME/ .wine into the terminal and now everything is gone... Just when was thinking how happy I am with the way my laptop was set up all my files pictures backgrounds etc are gone. All of my personalisation of Ubuntu went along with my files downloads... i take it

OSX 10.9, sticky-bit and deleting other people's stuff
Hello! First question I have ever asked here.. and I attribute that to the many people that have documented the crap out of how to do things with Samba.. thanks to all!!? I have a client using Samba 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 12.04.2. There are about 30 shares, 50 users. Not sure how much of this is needed, but it seems pointless to post unless I at least post this: # Auth ?security = user ?encrypt

64-bit chess engines and wine 1.2
Hi, an interesting new feature of wine 1.2 is it's 64-bit support. Many Windows chess engines gain about 50-80% speed increase when running at 64-bit. Most provide 32-bit and 64-bit engines. But on my 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 only an error message appears i.e. with the free Stockfish 1.8. Code: max at ub64:~/Downloads$ uname -a Linux ub64 2.6.32-24-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 5 09:20:59 UTC

How to remove a Trash folder from a mounted ntfs partition
CentOS-5.7 using fuse-ntfs-3g I have a HDD from a laptop that is being returned for repair replacement. I wish to remove certain files before sending the laptop back with the HDD. I have mouunted the HDD on my desktop as an ntfs filesystem using an external SATA / USB adapter. As root I then used the gnome desktop to move the desired files to trash. Now I wish to delete the contents of the
