MogileFS handler
Hello,
I''ve been using NFS for sharing files across a cluster of servers but
I''ve had a lot of problems with that. I''m planning to move to MogileFS
which seems to be more stable and more adapted to this usage (lots of
user uploaded files).
I wonder if someone has already worked on an integration of MogileFS
into Mongrel (and Rails app) for serving the files ? If not, I

[LLVMdev] LLVM + FORTRAN 95
Hi David/Renato,
By AST I mean Abstract Syntax Tree. We are writing an optimization
pass for some FORTRAN95 + MPI code that requires us to analyze the
AST. We thought of 2 ways of doing this:
1. Compile the code using Clang/llvm-gfortran, get the textual AST
dump (somehow), analyze the AST dump using Ruby, modify it and then
feed back the modified AST to LLVM.
2. Do the analysis as an LLVM

Probably for high-level optimisations, or just to see if the parser is
good, as I do in my compiler.
But AST is

nosql (it was mogilefs)
Yes,
I?ve read these doc. I was just considering if someone had any experience with Mogile in email environment.
Well, actually I?m trying to figure out if one of those nosql systems can store and scale email systems (ie, mailboxes - instead of maildir). I know mysql is always quoted as an option and discussed sometimes in the list. I think it?s an unnecessary overhead and bottleneck.

currently there are around 3.5 millions files on MogileFS.
We wanna move to cloud from MogileFS. Wanted to know how should i go
about this massive transfer of files. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance

Hosting images : DB or File System
Hi,
I''m developing an application where I''ll have to store a lot of images
coming from the users. And I''m still not sure if I should store them
in MySQl as blob or just store them on filesystem.
If I store them on filesystem, how to scale when I''ll have to have
multiple servers ?
Thanks,
Pratik

[LLVMdev] LLVM + FORTRAN 95
Hi all,
I want to compile FORTRAN 95 code with LLVM. More specifically, I
would like to get an AST dump of the program I compile, statically
analyze the AST, make modifcations to the AST and then feed it back to
LLVM. Do you have any hints as to how I should proceed about doing
this. I noticed that clang has an ast-dump option but don't know
whether it supports FORTRAN 95.
I am a LLVM newbie

LVM+Xen+FreeNAS possible?
Hi All,
We''ve limitation of 500 GB per server as per ServerLoft.
we are needing to store word/pdf files. We are planning to use following
setup.
/dev/sda1 - boot - ext2
/dev/sda2 - swap
/dev/sda3 - dom0 - ext3
/dev/sda4 - LVM - one LV for each domU, We''re planning 3 DomUs.
/dev/sda5 - FreeNAS. Is that possible? Can it be in one of the LVs under 4th
partition?

Rails Cluster Design
Hello everyone!
A collegue and I are beginning development on a site that will
eventually need to very scalable (assuming our business model is a
good idea). My problem is that I''m not a sysadmin guru, and I''m not
terribly comfortable with the design of the hosting platform. We''re
going to start with two servers initially (for cost reasons), and I''m
considering

coolest software ("coolest startups" re-asked)
Asked a little while back about "coolest startups" using Rails, I
think it''d have been better had I asked "coolest software." Besides
the obvious (37Signals, Typo, Yakima Herald, Odeo, Measure Map, etc.),
I''m just curious about other developments where people are using it to
make nifty stuff.

[LLVMdev] Code generation support in llvm for windows phone
Hi,
Is there support available in llc to convert llvm bytecode to Windows Mobile binary?
I have tried triples like arm-pc-win32 , thumbv7-window ... but the object file generated is not getting linked to the windows native project.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated?
Thanks,
~rajat

[LLVMdev] Code generation support in llvm for windows phone
I am talking about Windows Mobile 8 and 8.1 and not CE.
Not sure though that the Windows 8 (ARM NT) is similar to Windows Mobile 8 platform.
I used the following command to generate the obj file
Llc.exe -mtriple=thumbv7-windows -filetype=obj <some_name>.bc
The object file generated in the above object doesn't get linked when I try to link it with the windows mobile library as it

OGG/OGM media container
Hi all,
Xiph aims at developing open-standards media formats. Though xiph.org
tells about vorbis/theora/flac/speex, nothing is mentioned about container
to use (that is ogg/ogm). I have a few questions
Is there a difference between ogg and ogm? I guess its only the extension
that is different and everything else is same.
Some tools (like ogmtools) are available to create ogm files. What is

dynamically create columns using a function
Hi,
I am writing a function to dynamically create column names and fill those columns with some basic calculations. My function "demo_fn" takes argument "blup_datacut" and I like to use the contents of those arguments to dynamically create new columns in my dataset. Please note that I have another function called "calc_gg" within the function "demo_fn".
