RDMA inline threshold?
Dear Dan,
thanks for the quick reply!
I actually tried restarting all processes (and even rebooting all servers), but the error persists. I can also confirm that all birck processes are running. My volume is a distrubute-only volume (not dispersed, no sharding).
I also tried mounting with use_readdirp=no, because the error seems to be connected to readdirp, but this option does not change

Troubleshooting ZFS performance with SIL3124 cards
Hi!
I have a problem with ZFS and most likely the SATA PCI-X controllers.
I run
opensolaris 2008.11 snv_98 and my hardware is Sun Netra x4200 M2 with
3 SIL3124 PCI-X with 4 eSATA ports each connected to 3 1U diskchassis
which each hold 4 SATA disks manufactured by Seagate model ES.2
(500 and 750) for a total of 12 disks. Every disk has its own eSATA
cable
connected to the ports on the PCI-X

ZFS root clone problem
(for some reason I cannot find my original thread..so I''m reposting it)
I am trying to move my data off of a 40gb 3.5" drive to a 40gb 2.5" drive. This is in a Netra running Solaris 10.
Originally what I did was:
zpool attach -f rpool c0t0d0 c0t2d0.
Then I did an installboot on c0t2d0s0.
Didnt work. I was not able to boot from my second drive (c0t2d0).
I cannot remember

Extension status as XML for an Aastra 57i
I'm in the process of converting our current hybrid key system to
Asterisk and Aastra 57i phones. One of the features that seems to be a
show stopper for almost everyone in the office is the inability to see
who is on the phone. Can someone point in the right direction to setup
an XML app on the phone so they can press a soft-button and get a list
of extensions and their statuses? I know I can

zpool create using whole disk - do I add "p0"? E.g. c4t2d0 or c42d0p0
I have seen conflicting examples on how to create zpools using full disks. The zpool(1M) page uses "c0t0d0" but OpenSolaris Bible and others show "c0t0d0p0". E.g.:
zpool create tank raidz c0t0d0 c0t1d0 c0t2d0 c0t3d0 c0t4d0 c0t5d0
zpool create tank raidz c0t0d0p0 c0t1d0p0 c0t2d0p0 c0t3d0p0 c0t4d0p0 c0t5d0p0
I have not been able to find any discussion on whether (or when) to

SSD and ZFS
Hi all,
just after sending a message to sunmanagers I realized that my question
should rather have gone here. So sunmanagers please excus ethe double

I have inherited a X4140 (8 SAS slots) and have just setup the system
with Solaris 10 09. I first setup the system on a mirrored pool over

Which label a ZFS/ZPOOL device has ? VTOC or EFI ?
Hi All,
ZPOOL / ZFS commands writes EFI label on a device if we create ZPOOL/ZFS fs on it. Is it true ?
I formatted a device with VTOC lable and I created a ZFS file system on it.
Now which label the ZFS device has ? is it old VTOC or EFI ?
After creating the ZFS file system on a VTOC labeled disk, I am seeing the following warning messages.

RDMA inline threshold?
Stefan,
Sounds like a brick process is not running. I have notice some strangeness
in my lab when using RDMA, I often have to forcibly restart the brick
process, often as in every single time I do a major operation, add a new
volume, remove a volume, stop a volume, etc.
gluster volume status <vol>
Does any of the self heal daemons show N/A? If that's the case, try forcing
a restart on

Q: T2000: raidctl vs. zpool status
Hi all,
IHACWHAC (I have a colleague who has a customer - hello, if you''re
listening :-) who''s trying to build and test a scenario where he can
salvage the data off the (internal ?) disks of a T2000 in case the sysboard
and with it the on-board raid controller dies.
If I understood correctly, he replaces the motherboard, does some magic to
get the raid config back, but even

Issue with adding existing EFI disks to a zpool
I spend yesterday all day evading my data of one of the Windows disks, so that I can add it to the pool. Using mount-ntfs, it''s a pain due to its slowness. But once I finished, I thought "Cool, let''s do it". So I added the disk using the zero slice notation (c0d0s0), as suggested for performance reasons. I checked the pool status and noticed however that the pool size

RDMA inline threshold?
Dear all,
I faced a problem with a glusterfs volume (pure distributed, _not_ dispersed) over RDMA transport. One user had a directory with a large number of files (50,000 files) and just doing an "ls" in this directory yields a "Transport endpoint not connected" error. The effect is, that "ls" only shows some files, but not all.
The respective log file shows this

[LLVMdev] Qualitative comparisons between Open64 and llvm
Hi,
I have been working towards developing compiler optimization tools
targeting multi core processors while using LLVM IR as the starting
point and building on top of the analysis and optimization passes
available in the llvm source.
Recently, I looked into Open64 and its intermediate representation
WHIRL. Documentation for developers to use Open64 seems to be inadequate

determining raidz pool configuration
Hi all,
Sorry for the newbie question, but I''ve looked at the docs and haven''t
been able to find an answer for this.
I''m working with a system where the pool has already been configured and
want to determine what the configuration is. I had thought that''d be
with zpool status -v <poolname>, but it doesn''t seem to agree with the

restore lost pool after vtoc re-label
hi all,
i''ve been using a SAN LUN as the sole member of a zpool with one additional zfs filesystem. this is a flat SAN fabric, so this LUN was available to other systems on the fabric, and one of them came up with "wrong magic number" for several drives, and, as best i can tell, the vtoc for my zpool LUN was over-written on that host via format labeling to correct the error.

Moving drives around...
Kind of a newbie question here -- or I haven''t been able to find great
search terms for this...
Does ZFS recognize zpool members based on drive serial number or some
other unique, drive-associated ID? Or is it based off the drive''s
location (c0t0d0, etc).
I''m wondering because I have a zpool set up across a bunch of drives
and I am planning to move those drives to

[LLVMdev] Disable loop unroll pass
Hi, Gang:
I remember there were different voices when you check-in the code.
I agree with them although I didn't reply your mail in open64's mailing
list.
In the transformation you illustrate, it involves two operations:
1) promote WHILE-loop into DO-loop (i.e noncountable loop to
countable loop)
2) get rid of trip-count dec/inc and compare.
1) is irrelevant to HW loop.

vorbis-tools release
With the recent build system fixes and the addition of theora support to
ogginfo, I'm thinking vorbis-tools is ready for release. Can people
please give current svn head a whirl and report any remaining problems?
I also understand from Mike that the new CBR mode support in oggenc
requires a bugfix that's in the vorbis svn head, so we'll need to
release that at the same time.

Syslinux 4.03-pre4 - Release Candidate
Trying to get at least my backlog of bug fixes out... I'm hoping to do a
4.03 next week. Please help by:
a) giving it a whirl;
b) letting me know if I have missed any low-risk bugfixes.
Gene: I did not include your UI branch in this release, because it made
me a bit nervous... poke me on IRC when you have a chance.
