[PATCH 1/3] COMBOOT API: Improve readdir
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> COMBOOT API: Improve readdir. Now returns C struct stat st_mode compatible data in DX rather than the raw data from a FAT filesystem or C struct dirent d_mode compatible data. Signed-off-by: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> --- If I return something that's compatible with the C struct stat st_mode member, this can be used for more

[nbdkit PATCH 0/4] More .list_exports uses
Here's changes to the file plugin (which I'm happy with) and a new exportname filter (which is still at RFC stage; I need to finish implementing strict mode in .open, and add tests). I also discovered that we really want .list_exports and .open to know when they are used on plaintext vs. tls clients for --tls=on, and we may want to split out a new .default_export callback rather than

[PATCH 5/5] COM32/rosh: Improvements
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> COM32/rosh: Improvements; ls acts more like ls with -l -i and -F being understood; Lots of code clean up and user assistance. Clean up the MCONFIG file; Clean up the code to get it to pass checkpatch.pl (aside from confusion on multi-line strings); Add a little more in the error function to recognize different errors; Signed-off-by: Gene Cumm

[PATCH 1/1] COMBOOT API: Add calls for directory functions; Implement for FAT; Try 2
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> COMBOOT API: Add calls for directory functions; Implement most only for FAT (SYSLINUX). Uses INT 22h AX= 001Fh, 0020h, 0021h and 0022h to prepare for the COM32 C functions getcwd(), opendir(), readdir(), and closedir(), respectively. INT22h, AX=001Fh will return a valid value for all variants. INT22h, AX= 0020h, 0021h, and 0022h are only

compare st_mode & 07777, or Aix dirs always differ
Under Aix directories have the mode 024xxxx instead of the customary 04xxxx. Because of this when you sync a directory to or from an Aix system it's never up to date. Here is a patch which fixes this. It causes rsync to look at only the bits that chmod actually influences, 07777, when deciding whether or not the modes differ. I was surprised there wasn't an existing constant for 07777,

Small local dir refuses to sync, others AOK.
Hi guys, I'm having a problem rsyncing between two directories on local disk. I wish to sync the local directory /local/CA/eTrustDirectory/dxserver/ldif to the other local directory /local/CA/archive. 'rsync -vvvr --progress /local/CA/eTrustDirectory/dxserver/ldif /local/CA/archive' pauses at: make_file(4,ldif/MELLDRBIB11-ldsau004wm1/ldbau004v1_20060330.0204.raw)

[BUG?] There is a possibility that 'i_ino' overflows
Hi, In btrfs, inode number is increased each time a new file or directory is made. Therefore, if the making deletion of the file is repeated, value of ''i_ino'' increases rapidly. For example, inode number changes as follows. $ touch foo $ ls -i foo 266 foo $ rm foo $ touch bar $ ls -i bar 267 bar $ And then, length of ''i_ino'' and

(no subject)
Hi, we needed these changes when we had to build a guest image compatible with a starting guest image but not backed by it in any way? We needed some tool to check our progress, comparing original and? rebuilt (from scratch) images, and virt-diff seemed the best option, but? we had to soften the comparison to reduce the noise in the output. I added some options to ignore certain informations when

rosh patch
Hey Guys, Below is a patch for the com32/rosh/rosh.c from tonights syslinx git. The patch does the following: 1) changes the rosh_issp to use an if instead of a case for this simple test. 2) changes the rosh_dir_arg function to move the readdir() to inside the while test. This will let me go through my APUE book. Let me know if you have any questions. Keith --- rosh.orig 2009-03-05

COMBOOT/COM32 shell and DIR library functions
For several years now, I've been using Syslinux/Isolinux to load boot systems and love it. At times, I've messed up making a config file or forgotten the name of a file on the CD (or USB flash drive) and didn't want to take the time to load the CD into another machine or boot a DOS or Linux OS to search. The ability to browse the CD/USB drive would prove beneficial in these

only root without password
Hi all, I have a very strange problem with the public key authentication with 2 machines. I generated the key, configured the authorized_keys etc.. etc.. This is all ok, now: The ssh works without the password for the "root" user, any other user cannot use the key and ssh ask me for the password !! I cannot understand why only the root is able to connect without the password. So, the ssh

RFC: COMBOOT API directory calls
Currently, I'm looking at implementing 3 COMBOOT API calls for directories, opendir, readdir, and closedir. In order to track progress within the directory, I'll need to keep track of the current sector number that is being read and the offset within the sector for the next file entry to read. I'm contemplating if I should also keep track of the starting sector of the directory (in

AW: Unable to open configuration file "/etc/smb.conf" (or whereve r i specify)
Hi, it looks like you have something really messed up on your system. The size of the file is 1243 bytes (from strace) but 0 bytes are being read. If you had no permission to read the strace would have looked like this: open("/etc/samba/smb.conf", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied) A quick look at the source code reveals: /etc/samba/smb.conf is opened in file_load
