ROSH: bug or feature
Used rosh.c32 from syslinux-3.74-pre11. When I typed 'pzd' in the shell: > pzd /boot/syslinux > pwd /boot/syslinux I use an azerty keyboard. Due to that I typed 'pzd'. Is it a feature or a bug? Gert Hulsemans

[PATCH 5/5] COM32/rosh: Improvements
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> COM32/rosh: Improvements; ls acts more like ls with -l -i and -F being understood; Lots of code clean up and user assistance. Clean up the MCONFIG file; Clean up the code to get it to pass checkpatch.pl (aside from confusion on multi-line strings); Add a little more in the error function to recognize different errors; Signed-off-by: Gene Cumm

unsorted - suggestion for performance improvement and ALTREP support for POSIXct
I believe the performance of isUnsorted() in sort.c could be improved by calling REAL() once (outside of the for loop), rather than calling it twice inside the loop. As an aside, it is implemented in the faster way in doSort() (sort.c line 401). The example below shows the performance improvement for a vectors of double of moving REAL() outside the for loop. # example as implemented in

rosh patch
Hey Guys, Below is a patch for the com32/rosh/rosh.c from tonights syslinx git. The patch does the following: 1) changes the rosh_issp to use an if instead of a case for this simple test. 2) changes the rosh_dir_arg function to move the readdir() to inside the while test. This will let me go through my APUE book. Let me know if you have any questions. Keith --- rosh.orig 2009-03-05

rosh patch V2
Here is a second version of my patch from last night. It uses the provided ctype function isspace and does the same readdir(). I remove the rosh_issp() function. I admit to being a bit liberal with my use of braces and spaces. We all of the habit of knowing we can invent a more perfect wheel. Let me know if you have any questions. Expected behaviour of is.unsorted?
Hi, I've read ?is.unsorted and searched. Have found a few items but nothing close, yet. Is the following expected? > is.unsorted(data.frame(1:2)) [1] FALSE > is.unsorted(data.frame(2:1)) [1] FALSE > is.unsorted(data.frame(1:2,3:4)) [1] TRUE > is.unsorted(data.frame(2:1,4:3)) [1] TRUE IIUC, is.unsorted is intended for atomic vectors only (description of x in ?is.unsorted). multiple issues with is.unsorted()
Hi, In the man page for is.unsorted(): Value: A length-one logical value. All objects of length 0 or 1 are sorted: the result will be ?NA? for objects of length 2 or more except for atomic vectors and objects with a class (where the ?>=? or ?>? method is used to compare ?x[i]? with ?x[i-1]? for ?i? in ?2:length(x)?). No thanks for breaking third-party applications
Hi *, I was just debugging why TFTP booting did not work any more on a system that had pxelinux.0 was updated. ?Since version 5.00, support for 16-bit COMBOOT modules has been dropped, and c32 modules switched from the COM32 object format to ELF.? Ugh. Well, updating the *.c32 files was enough to make the Linux discless thingy work again. BUT! The MirBSD bootloader actually took advantage of

Missing make dependencies?
I'm seeing some sporadic build failures with 'make -j4'. The failures are: make[4]: *** No rule to make target 'hello.c32', needed by 'all'. Stop. I've only seen the failures with com32/samples/hello.c32 and com32/rosh/rosh.c32. I'm not a make expert, but I think it's due to missing dependencies. This patch seems to fix my failures, but I'm

Couldn't (and shouldn't) is.unsorted() be faster?
Hi, Couldn't is.unsorted() bail out immediately here (after comparing the first 2 elements): > x <- 20000000:1 > system.time(is.unsorted(x), gcFirst=TRUE) user system elapsed 0.084 0.040 0.124 > x <- 200000000:1 > system.time(is.unsorted(x), gcFirst=TRUE) user system elapsed 0.772 0.440 1.214 Thanks! Syslinux-4/libutil: console_ansi_std()
Well, I decided to get ROSH back out and try to get it functioning in Syslinux-4. As has been my habit, I first recompiled the Linux binary and tried it out. In the beginning of ROSH, it calls console_ansi_std(). When I was working on this in the past, using this function ensured both the Linux and the Syslinux/COM32 binaries function similarly. When using fgets() to get an input string in the

[PATCH 0/6] Makefile cleanups
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com> This series includes a patch (PATCH 1/6) that I sent previously but I thought it was worth sending it again since the rest of the series depends on it, and it also gives a bit of context. These cleanups make it simpler to do the big switchover to ELF modules on the elflink branch because the libraries in $LIBS are now contained in one

multiple comboot files?
Is there a way for isolinux/syslinux to execute a list of comboot files immediately at startup, and only once? I have a bunch of small comboot .com files that I want to batch run immediately, then after that do a DISPLAY boot.msg similar in some ways to an autoexec.bat. For example: DEFAULT mycd APPEND ramdisk_size=100000 init=/etc/init lang=us .... TIMEOUT 300 ONSTARTUP mybatch <- ???

Makefiles: includes and rule prerequisites
1) mk/syslinux.mk runs a shell to make a temp file gcc_ok.$$$$.tmp (perhaps in the wrong directory) while several Makefiles have an include rule for *.tmp which I believe is causing some occasional parallel build issues. make[3]: Entering directory `/home/gene/s/g/bios/memdump' gcc_ok.6333.tmp:1: warning: NUL character seen; rest of line ignored gcc_ok.6333.tmp:1: *** missing separator.

[GIT PULL] elflink fixes
Hi Peter, The main part of this pull request includes commits that try to replace as many __intcall() invocations as possible. Some remain, but not many (and eventually they'll be gone too). There's also a patch to make better use of ld's --as-needed option and various other bug fixes/cleanups. The following changes since commit ff7334a2ce536b7f4b1f6d6f93ff4e285a3bd45a: Only
