chainboot Windows on second drive
Hi, I'm new to the list. I've replaced grub by extlinux to multi boot my system. Now, I can't manage to boot one of my systems. I have 5 hard drives, 3 of them being part of a raid0 array, and one of them being here for backup purposes (can be removed). So the total 'logical' drives number is 2. First drive: - primary partition holding a rescue Windows XP system (ntfs) -

chain.c32 "Chainboot failed!"
Hi, I am using syslinux-4.00-pre24, -pre27 and -pre31. chain.c32 fails for pre27 and pre31 for particular configs ... shown below. 1) works on pre24, fails with error message "Chainboot failed!" for pre27 and pre31 LABEL local MENU DEFAULT MENU LABEL Local Boot ... (skip PXE boot) KERNEL chain.c32 APPEND hd0 0 2) works on all three. LABEL local

chain.c32: Chainboot failed!
When you try to boot the FreeDOS kernel with 'fs' specified, chain.c32 won't boot the FreeDOS kernel. boot: chain.c32 fs freedos=kernel.sys Loading the boot file... Booting... Chainboot failed! boot: It would be nicer that chain.c32 will automatically correct 'fs' to 'boot' behavior, so it won't fail. msdos= will probably behave the same as freedos=. - Gert

Chainboot to XP Embedded
Hi Folks, I've been playing around with SYSLINUX for a little bit; here's what I'm trying to do... My disk will have three partitions: [BOOT: (FAT16 w/ SYSLINUX)] [OS1] [OS2] OS1 and OS2 will both contain an XP Embedded system which is read-only and which will always boot from a hibernate file. What I'd like to be able to do if flip-flop between them at runtime (that is, run

Dual-booting VMware and chainbooting GRUB
Dear All: I am having trouble trying to dual-boot VMware and Linux, and I tried everything I could come up with. The situation is that /dev/sda is fully used by VMware and /dev/sdb is used by Linux. VMware uses Syslinux, so I thought this would be simple... However, it is not. The bootable FAT partition is too smal to have kernels in it. As a fallback I tried to chain-load GRUB, but that did not

[PATCH 0/5] Deleting __intcall() from Syslinux
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at intel.com> Since we can't use __intcall() for EFI, and since we can now have the ELF module code resolve all our symbols at runtime, we should delete as many references to __intcall() as possible and just access the symbols directly. The most interesting patch is the support for weak symbols. We need to be able to reference derivative-specific

[GIT PULL] elflink fixes
Hi Peter, The main part of this pull request includes commits that try to replace as many __intcall() invocations as possible. Some remain, but not many (and eventually they'll be gone too). There's also a patch to make better use of ld's --as-needed option and various other bug fixes/cleanups. The following changes since commit ff7334a2ce536b7f4b1f6d6f93ff4e285a3bd45a: Only

after hard reboot, split-brain happened, but nothing showed in gluster voluem heal info command !
Hi, Thanks for reply! I?ve checked [1]. But the problem is that there is nothing shown in command ?gluster volume heal <volume-name> info?. So these split-entry files could only be detected when app try to visit them. I can find gfid mismatch for those in-split-brain entries from mount log, however, nothing show in shd log, the shd log does not know those split-brain entries. Because there

strange charecters after redcloth usage
I''m using redcloth on my blog to transform my input into html. Alot of times if I type "I''ve" I''ll wind up with "I,ve" except that it''s not a comma but a very similar charecter. This is really killing my rss feeds. What''s causing this? How do I fix it? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Samba authenication to Window Active Directory
Has any version of Samba been tested for compatibility with the new Windows Active Directory? We will be upgrading our NT domain to 2000 and creating Active Directory. Currently our solaris samba 2.0.7 server is configured to authenicate users from our NT domain controllers. Will we encounter problems with the 2000 upgrade? Thanks in advance, Cynthia --------------------------------- Do You

after hard reboot, split-brain happened, but nothing showed in gluster voluem heal info command !
Hi, To resolve the gfid split-brain you can follow the steps at [1]. Since we don't have the pending markers set on the files, it is not showing in the heal info. To debug this issue, need some more data from you. Could you provide these things? 1. volume info 2. mount log 3. brick logs 4. shd log May I also know which version of gluster you are running. From the info you have provided it

syslinux and btrfs-formatted dos/MBR partition
Hello syslinux list, I have installed Arch over a btrfs-formatted dos/MBR primary partition* (no btrfs subvolumes, just installing everything including /boot in the root of the btrfs). I have been unsuccessful for several days trying to get it to boot with syslinux (6.02-8 package from Arch, also tried 4.07-1 Arch package). All I am getting is the copyright header line and a blinking cursor

Testing which RuntimeError is raised
I am just starting to use unit testing. Way cool. But I am not finding very clear docs on assert_raise. I have managed to write a test that tells me that the destroy I am trying to test fails with a RuntimeError (as it should). However, I would really like to test that it rails for the specific reason I have in my model. How can I get more specific? Am I going to have to create my own exception

after hard reboot, split-brain happened, but nothing showed in gluster voluem heal info command !
HI gluster experts, I meet a tough problem about ?split-brain? issue. Sometimes, after hard reboot, we will find some files in split-brain, however its parent directory or anything could be shown in command ?gluster volume heal <volume-name> info?, also, no entry in .glusterfs/indices/xattrop directory, can you help to shed some lights on this issue? Thanks! Following is some info from

[GIT PULL] elflink bug fixes
Hi Peter, Please pull the following changes. Paulo, I had to revert your "pxe: resolve names via DNS from protected-mode code" change because dns_resolv() is only implemented for PXELINUX and causes undefined symbol references for ISOLINUX, etc. Feel free to make the change again on top of the revert. Boot Error GPT partition
Hi all, I was using grub2 for booting Archlinux x86_64 in my GPT Internal HDD (/dev/sda) then I switched to syslinux/extlinux. It was working fine but suddenly it staring showing "Boot Error" message on screen. I googled for a solution and tried all syslinux versions from 4.04-pre4 down to 4.03-stable but non of them worked. I don't know what suddenly changed caused this

Links go to ''localhost''
I am using Apache2.2 + Mongrel on my machine. Now I am accessing it over LAN. When I enter http://mymachinename/myapp it opens fine but when I click on any link in my rails app, it replaces mymachinename with localhost (http://localhost/myapp/controller/action) and thus I am unable to access it from remote location.
