Illustrating kernel distribution in wheat ears
Dear all R2.10 WinXP I have a dataset dealing with the way different wheat cultivars build their yield. Wheat ears are organised in spikelets where the spikelets can be numbered from the bottom, with even numbers on one side and odd on the other. I know how many kernels there were in each spikelet after some months spent counting them... Now I want to illustrate the differences between the

vesamenu.c32 broken? blame F10?
Hello, vesamenu.c32 from syslinux-3.75.tar.bz2 is broken in my tests with: - qemu 0.9.1 -cdrom iso_image - qemu 0.9.1 -cdrom iso_image -std-vga - virtualbox 2.2.0 (Sun version) It blocks right after showing the copyright notice. I've since compiled the following versions in my machine, running Fedora 10: - syslinux-3.63 - syslinux-3.72 - syslinux-3.73 - syslinux-3.75-143-g080bf56 I did a

Docs for print or in the distribution zip?
Hi, Are there any plans to "export" the documentation from time to time(e.g. at releases) from the WIKI in an "offline" form to be usable as printed, and/or to be distributed with into scriptaculous-js-1.x.x.zip ? It is very uncomfortable that the ZIP distribution contains practically no documentation :(. Most of the WIKIs have such export function (many of them even export

Is it good practice to have a package depend on Rtools(for unziping of .7z and.rar files)? Crab legal?
r-package-devel is the right mailing list for your query, not here. I created this package, https://github.com/lucasmation/microdadosBrasil which we are preparing for Cran submission. The package facilitates downloading and reading most of the microdatasets (household surveys, Census, etc). For each dataset it: (a) downloads the data from the data providers (b) "unzip" the necessary files (c) imports the data into R. For (b), some of the datasets

Error on opening, Non 7z Archive
I downloaded a game that I play on my Windows machine hoping to play it on my Linux machine and each time I try installing/opening I get an error that says Non 7z archive. I have tried a few different ways of opening this file to be immediately greeted with this error. Any ideas what is the cause of this? It is a larger .exe file at 2g in size. Thanks.

What can I use instead of ks.test for the binomial distribution ?
Hello all, A friend just showed me how ks.test fails to work with pbinom for small "size". Example: x<-rbinom(10000,10,0.5) x2<-rbinom(10000,10,0.5) ks.test(x,pbinom,10,0.5) ks.test(x,pbinom, size = 10, prob= 0.5) ks.test(x,x2) The tests gives significant p values, while the x did come from binom with size = 10 prob = 0.5. What test should I use instead ? Thanks, Tal

Implicit vs explicit printing and the call stack
Hi everyone, I've run into a bit of strange problem with implicit vs explicit printing and the call stack. I've included an example at the bottom of this email. The basic problem is that I have an S3 object with a print method. When the object is implicitly printed (ie. typed directly into the console) the function arguments in the call stack are exploded out to their actual values,

7-Zip for CentOS X86-64
Hey Y'all, I'm looking at ZCad: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zcad/?source=directory It looks like the kind of 3D CAD package that I've been looking for. It says that it works on Linux but it's zipped with 7-Zip which doesn't seem to be available for CentOS. Does anyone know if ZCAD or 7-Zip is packaged for CentOS X86-64 somewhere out there? -- _ ?v? /(_)\ ^
