CR repo - version issue
Hi We use mrepo to keep a local repository. I downloaded the CentOS6.1 iso and used that as the base. We also have the CR repo added. I was expecting this change to cause no issues but the following packages have version issues between the base 6.1 and the CR repo:- base version CR version dbus-libs-1.2.24-4.el6_0.x86_64 dbus-libs-1.2.24-5.el6_1.x86_64

Yumrepo''s subscribe ran before package require Yumrepo?
I am trying to set a "subscribe" for a Yumrepo object so that an Exec "yum clean all" is ran immediately after a Yumrepo is changed. With the following setup, I am not seeing the "subscribe" fire off until after Packages that have a require pointing to the Yumrepo["custom"] are attempted to be installed. Is in right to expect that the subscribe on the

Yum site cache
Hi all, since I'm installing several copies of CentOS I was thinking of using some system to save bandwidth. I started looking at mrepo, but I noticed that, if I let him sync with updates and rpmforge repos, I'll end with a _lot_ of unneeded files. Also I have to modify the various yum repos configuration files for it to work. What I would like to achieve is just download the same

YumRepo Warning: not using ftp, http[s], or file for repos, skipping - 5 is not a valid release or hasnt been released yet
Hi all Does anyone know what causes this error? I have setup a local CentOS repository, with mrepo, and can succesfully use it for updates & installation of just about anything. Yet, this error comes up. Here's my /etc/yum.conf: # PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo # in /etc/yum.repos.d [base-local] name=CentOS-$releasever - Base #mirrorlist=

Yum missing dependency
I haven't run any updates on my systems recently, but now I'm trying to get them up to date again. When I run a yum update, I get this error: Error: Missing Dependency: initscripts >= 7.93.26.EL-1 is needed by package httpd I did a Google search, but I didn't find anything relating directly to CentOS or RHEL and there was no fix suggested. If it makes a difference, I am running

Excluding packages from mirrored repo
The RPMForge Tools list appears to be dead, so maybe someone here can help: I am mirroring the Centos4 updates repo using mrepo. My systems are all servers and have no need of OpenOffice, so I would like to be able to exclude the 4GB (i386 & x86_64) of OpenOffice rpms when I mirror the repo. I have looked at the mrepo docs and done some Google searches, but so far, I haven't come across

"Monitor" RPMs in Repo
Hi all, Sorry for the bad subject. I'd like to do two things. - Know when a RPM which is currently in only one repository pops up in a different repository. E.g. RPM going from epel-testing to epel. - Get notified when a RPM pops up in a repository. E.g. waiting for an RPM to appear. I know that this is quite easy to find out manually. But did anyone build a script or something else to do

rsync 5.1 base repo question
I have built my repo by copying the content of the ISO images, maintaining the date. When I test with: rsync -avun rsync://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5.1/os/i386/ \ --exclude=debug/ /repos/centos/5.1/os/i386 the only file listed is: CentOS/yum-kernel-module-1.0.4-3.el5.centos.2.noarch.rpm Which I did not get from the ISOs. but if I leave off the -u option, the list is VERY long. Why? Also

Question on syncing my local repo
I have read various howtos on setting up a local mirror of the Centos base and update repos. I think I have them, I have followed the directory tree that I see on mirrors.centos.org: centos/5.1/os/i386/ centos/5.1/updates/i386/ I set up the base tree by copying the ISOs to centos/5.1/os/i386/; interestingly centos/5.1/os/i386/isolinux/ has the ISOs, 2-6. Don't know how those got
