Bugs in yum update
This is a continuation of the thread: "yum update fails: CentOS 5.2". I installed a fresh Centos 5.2 and ran yum update. It ran correctly, except for these issues: 1. As previously mentioned, after deciding what it is going to do, It doesn't ask if its ok. But if I type y<enter> it reports: Is this ok [y/N]: Downloading Packages: 2. During the long period it

Does Wine leave a Zombie-Thread behind?
Hi all, I'm quite new to Wine, so sorry if this question was discussed before. I installed Wine to have Lotus Notes running on my Linux-Box (SuSE 7.2). I use to start it via a desktop shortcut. After closing Notes I still find a wine process running. If I start it from the command line, I also have to kill the process after Notes is finished (CRTL-C). Is this a bug or a feature? Any

R-alpha: lbeta, ctrl-C and crashes
1. lbeta and beta do not work properly: lbeta returns its first argument and beta gives the lbeta result. In names.c lines 245-6, the codes for these should be 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2 2. crtl-C does not work (except the first time) on Red Hat elf Linux (which has many many other problems as well) nor on the previous version of Linux for Amiga. It worked on Slackware aout Linux and now works

Freenx full screen mode problem fixed in 0.5.x?
In early June, there was an update from freenx 0.4.x to 0.5.x in centosplus. It broke full screen mode for Linux clients. I am aware of the ctrl-alt-f workaround. But I have quite a few users at branch offices who depend on NX and with employee turnover and all, it has been a source of confusion for us. Has anyone come up with a fix so that fullscreen works without crtl-alt-f? I've

Problems with large trusted domains?
Hi, I've got Winbind running (or so I think) on my Solaris 8 server using Samba 2.2.3a. Whenever I do a long directory listing on a directory that contains a file placed via the samba share by an NT user on the trusted domain, the SUN box just hangs there. It acts like it is searching the database, but after three or four minutes I just CRTL + C it. Do you think this is winbind not working

Problems with a PDC
Hello, Perhaps I'm going to ask a stupid question, but it represents a problem for me :'(. My intention is to build a PDC with samba in a lan filled up with Windows clients. I have set up the Samba server and I can "mount" a directory from samba in a letter on a windows machine, such as g: for example. This works fine, but... I can't log in, or validate users, against the

OpenSSH hanging
Hi there, I'm having some strange behaviour from OpenSSH It presents itself when using the "ssh -t" / pseudo terminal. We are using this feature to update the wtmp and it is working fine on SuSE and RH, but our AIX hosts are getting hung. The first attempt is usually successful, but eventually, the session is hung and the CRTL-Z does not put the process into

Home drive and logon scripts intermitently not applied
Hi folks, This problem has been driving me nuts for the last 3 years... Now I am running Samba 4.0.9 but the very same was happening before the migration to AD, with Samba 3.x. Most clients are running WinXP SP3 with all updates. The problem is that both the logon script and home drive defined on the "Profile" tab on the AD Users and Computers MMC, *RANDOMLY* and *INTERMITENTLY* does

icecast hangs at start
thanks for the reply. the problem is after i start icecast with icecast -c /path to icecast.xml, i see the following: Changed groupid to 501. Changed userid to 501. and then it just hangs. i do not get a command prompt or anything. so i was wondering if there are any other messages that normally follow during the startup process. <p>--- Karl Heyes <karl@xiph.org> wrote: > On

Couple more problems (ov_open_callbacks)
I'm in the final throes of debugging (hopefully) and the last thing I'm trying to do is figure out why I'm getting static instead of usable data. I have a verified Ogg file (it plays fine in WMA); I've visibly inspected the info struct and it matches my output format; I've verified my audio playback code by using a generated sine wave (sounds correct). So that leads to a

strftime fails on POSIXct objects (PR#10695)
R 2.6.1 on a Thinkpad T60 running up-to-date Gentoo: Despite the documentation, which says: 'strftime' is an alias for 'format.POSIXlt', and 'format.POSIXct' first converts to class '"POSIXlt"' by calling 'as.POSIXlt'. Note that only that conversion depends on the time zone. strftime fails on POSIXct objects: > foo <-
