New mailserver problems
Well, in part we will see if you get this and I get the return. I JUST launched my new mail server after a few miscues. Actually the OS is Redsleeve6, which is the arm port of Centos 6, and perhaps some of my problems may come down to porting problems. But first, it may be that despite my testing, I missed something in the configurations. First clamd problems: Nov 19 08:09:54 z9m9z

Help in starting spamassassin
I have installed spamassassin, per the instructions on Scalix's wiki, and it is working, with some important caviats. So I asked for help on the spamassassin user list, and got some, but I think I am butting up against some Centos specific issues... This is what I am seeing in the maillog: Aug 17 14:39:59 z9m9z sendmail[13082]: l7HIdvGf013082: Milter add: header: X-Spam-Checker-Version:

ISC's dhcp server, radvd and bind9 now adding samba as an AD DC
So I had dhcp, radvd and bind working together nicely and now I threw in a wrench of setting up an AD DC I want to change my dhcp server setting to put client's into the new AD Domain but am a little hesitant as it is all working so nicely with DDNS I'm starting to think all I need to do is edit just my dhcpd.conf and change occurrences of DOMAIN1.SUBDOMAIN.TLD to

ISC's dhcp server, radvd and bind9 now adding samba as an AD DC
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_BIND_as_backend_for_Samba_AD helped me find that I needed to add options { [...] tkey-gssapi-keytab "/usr/local/samba/private/dns.keytab"; [...] }; That seems to have fixed my errors with DNS On Fri, May 27, 2016 at 9:26 AM, Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> wrote: > On 27/05/16 14:37, Jeff Sadowski wrote: >

ISC's dhcp server, radvd and bind9 now adding samba as an AD DC
I had left my config alone for now and dhcp still writes to DOMAIN1.SUBDOMAIN.TLD. But samba has been complaining about not being able to write to bind in its zone. CentOS 6 as DNS-Server
Hello, it has been a while since I had setup a DNS-Server with CentOS 6; these days I added a few zones needed for DDNS; this works but in /etc/ I found quite a strange file, I'm not sure if it was in use at the beginning I used this system as a DNS-Server, and after several 'yum update' not any more; /etc/named.root.key with this content managed-keys { # DNSKEY for the root zone. #

Yes I think so This is my /etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf ddns-updates on; ddns-update-style interim; #ddns-update-style none; update-static-leases on; option domain-name-servers cd1.home.cu; option domain-name "home.cu"; default-lease-time 600; max-lease-time 7200; authoritative; include "/etc/bind/rndc.key"; #include "/usr/local/samba/private/dns.keytab"; # deny

Dovecot impatient with mysql?
It seems dovecot is impatient with connecting with mysql, as I see in maillog entries like: Apr 6 11:48:30 z9m9z dovecot: dict: Error: mysql(localhost): Connect failed to database (postfix): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13) - waiting for 5 seconds before retry Apr 6 11:48:35 z9m9z dovecot: dict: Error: mysql(localhost): Connect

Reverse DNS
Hi, We have some issue with the reverse DNS in Samba AD. We're running Bind9_DLZ on Ubuntu 18.04. The DHCP server(Ubuntu 16.04) is different to the AD server and not in the same AD domain. The DHCP scope points to the Samba AD server as the DNS server When a machine with DHCP assigned address tries to update the DNS record, it is able to update the forward zone but not the reverse zone. Outlook 2010 not connecting to secure POP3
OK, I did not know that this user has a new computer with Outlook 2010. This SHOULD make it easier but... I have the computer right next to me, they brought it over. It is on the same LAN as this notebook. I can access my server with: openssl s_client -connect z9m9z.htt-consult.com:995 And then log the user in with the appropriate POP3 credentials. In Outlook 2010, in Advanced settings I

Centos 5 where is rndc.conf and named.conf?
In /var/named/chroot/etc there is no rndc.conf or named.conf. Where are they? Webmin built a named.conf, but it is missing many of the 'default' entries. And it did not set up the symbolic link to /etc I am trying to follow instructions at: http://www.wains.be/index.php/2007/02/04/centos-chroot-dns-with-bind/

Bind DDNS updates
So according to the Bind arm, `rndc freeze zone ...` should drop the jrn file and flush its deltas. I have tested this and it's not updating the master on my 5.6 box with bind-9.3.6, it drops the jrn and discards the deltas after an unfreeze|thaw. A service restart behaves as expected. Anyone know what's up with that, is it fixable? I don't really have the time to update to 9.7 if
