Help with Apache config
I have been attempting for days to configure Apache for Rails. I have read forums, followed How-To''s all in vain. I am hoping someone can help me out. I am getting the Rails Welcome screen, but when trying to go to any other url, I get the 500.html message. Take a look for yourself at http://66.139.78.237 and click on "about your application''s environment".

RE: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid error after app has beenrunning for a while
I have this problem as well... After so many hours of inactivity, I get "statement invalid" and if I restart Apache or WEBrick, everything works fine again. What steps can I take to fix this? I don''t want to have to restart the server! -Brian -----Original Message----- From: rails-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

ROR - Apache - FastCGI / Can''t see stylesheets or javascript
Folks ... I have been porting my app from dev environment on Webrick to Apache with FastCGI. I have the app responding and pulling up the data, but it is ignoring the "images", "stylesheets", "javascripts" directories located in the public directory. I''m running Apache under Suse Linux 9.x. Here is the information that I have in my vhosts.conf file:

ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid error after app has been running for a while
Hi, I''m having a bit of a problem with a rails app and I wonder if anyone can help. It seems to run fine for a while, but if it''s left running too long (left running as a fastcgi or webrick process that is) it starts failing with an "ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid" error (i''ve included the full error from the log file below). I''m seeing this on both

SOLVED: Re: How to debug the rendering in Rails?
It seems to be working now. I used "puts" debug statement that were rendered to the webrick console in the dev environment, but that made fastcgi trip ... Fastcgi and mysql woes
Hi, I have been heck of a time to get mysql and fastcgi to work properly on my Mac OS X box. I keep getting the following error: Can''t connect to local MySQL server through socket ''/opt/local/var/run/mysql5/mysqld.sock'' (13) I have even tried commenting out the "socket" option in my database.yml but it still gives me the same error. I''m ok when I

RMagick and FastCGI on Windows
I''m having trouble getting RMagick to work on my Apache/FastCGI setup. If I top Apache and start WEBrick on the exact same app/dirs, it works fine. I installed RMagick following the instructions here: http://rmagick.rubyforge.org/install-faq.html#win That gives me: C:\ruby\lib\ruby\gems\1.8\gems\RMagick-win32-1.9.2-mswin32\lib

Detecting Webrick // determining application "root" directory
Is there a way to detect Webrick at runtime? I''ve noticed a couple of differences between my dev environment (Webrick) and the production environment (Apache 2/FastCGI): * stream must be false in send_file with webrick * pwd is different - Webrick: It''s where you run ruby script/server from - Apache: It''s the public directory ... unless someone

Newbe Rails question on Apache.
Hello, I am new to Rails, like totally new. I am not new to application development having near 10 years experience with data mining and store front development with various Java web severs. I see a ton of power in Rails but I am slightly put off by what looks like a difficulty when running Rails apps under Apache. So I am posting a few prelimenary questions of getting Rails apps going

HELP!! Serious memory leak in my rails app!!
I''m having a huge memory leak problem with a rails application I''m developing! I first noticed that when running under webrick (via script/server) there was a fast memory leak.. several users using the app for a few hours would use 2 gig of memory!!! I searched the archives and found that some users found that it could be avoided by saying --daemon when launching webrick..

Routing problems - Apache proxy vs. Webrick direct
I dropped the use of fastcgi because I could not get popen working (see ''[Rails] Apache2 and popen''). It works under WebBrick. Since CGI is too slow, I thought I''d proxy to WebBrick via Apache. I am having routing problems now with escaped slashes in the URL. Here''s my routes.rb: map.connect '''', :controller => "wiki"

MySQL Adaptor on WinXP Dual CPU machine broken?
When I run using webrick on a dual WinXP SP2 machine it crashes intmittently at random locations. If the page has no MySQL lookups in it it will go and go forever. The moment I put one MyModel.find(:first) into the controller. Webrick starts crashing again. Crash as in illegal access into low addresses of memory. I have tried installing MySQL 4.1 and 5 GA as well as uninstalling and

RoR with FastCGI cannot get it working.
I have Ruby on Rails setup on a server using the guide for cPanel from the wiki at the RoR main site, but it does not work properly. I ran the test.fcgi file I found on a page on the wiki and it just loops. The default test controller dispatch.fcgi also loops. I see a FastCGI error along the lines of "has failed to remain running for 30 seconds given 3 attempts, its restart interval has
