error when join my Centos machine to win2003 ADS server
Dear All,
I have succesfully managed to have my kerberos configured n working
without error when i say
kinit Administrator
and after entering password it works fine
my krb5.conf
--------------
[logging]
default = FILE:/var/log/krb5libs.log
kdc = FILE:/var/log/krb5kdc.log
admin_server = FILE:/var/log/kadmind.log
[libdefaults]

Dear All,

offtopic question .. apprecyice ur help
Dear All,
its a offtopic question but really apprecite if someone would advise n help
i have been running a mil server with sendmail
and have sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org as my dnsbl.
i had other servers which are alredy out now
that is relays.ordb.org and dsbl.org have already been out of my sendmail
config.
any one knows of ny other servers i could add in my sendmail config

check mal server speed n performance
Dear All,
I have Centos 5.1 and sendmail mail server running for over a year and
been workin fine
i also use mailscanner + clamav
now some remote users have been complaing that the mail sometimes time out
i have even tried to stop the mail scanner and jus test my sendmail but
the problem exists
now i would apprecite if someone cd help me or let me know of a link where
i could test the mail

boot problems
Dear All,
I am quite new to centos
i had installed centos 5.2 to be as a squid proxy server and it was
working fine for over a month or so
but 3 days back the machine after a reboot jus refused to boot
it jus was goin to the grub prompt
i wd really apprecite if someone cd help me ..
cd i boot from centos boot cd n go to rescue mode and check grub

monitoring traffic through shorewall
Dear All,
I have been using -- shorewall-4.0.14-1 on Centos 5.2 and its been working
just great.
i would like to monitor shorewall traffic ( i mean the allowed and dropped
traffic passing through my firewall )with a browser from any location
apprecite if someone could help me or advice me which software or add on
utility would do the above.

samsung sata disk pb
Hi there,
I'm running a centos 5.2 (with a centos 5.3 kernel) on a box with a
samsung 1To green edition, and this disk looks a bit slow to me and it's
not recognized by hdparm :

i did setup a backup mail server as per docs and ran th dns test from
http://www.checkdns.net
and it says both the mail servers are fine

Virtual Hosting

i have jus installed CentOS 5 and the following software

bind 9.3
this machine is used as a primary DNS and out mail server
and is been workin perfect
we jus have a new domain and i want to have virtual mail hosting on the

DNS query
Dear All,
i have the following setup
CentOS 5 server running as a primary DNS server for a long time and is

the server is on public IP and we have abt 5 zones apart from the reverse
n local zone
now our sister company have recently setup their own DNS and we are

upgrade my open ssl
Dear All,
I have centos 4.5 final and when i installed it there is a openssl version
openssl-0.9.7a-43.16 ..
i need to upgrade it to openssl 0.9.8 ..
also when i try to uninstall it it gives me a failed dependency errror
actually i did a nodeps and uninstalled openssl ver 0.9.8 but when my

i have installed Centos 4.5 and is working perfectly fine me actually a
novice and is my first time with centos though have experince with redhat
i do have a few queries..
1) i dont see /usr/src/redhat/BUILD and the other 4 directories..
namely RPMS, SOURCES, SPECS, SRPMS
so basically how do i install /src.rpm files

problem with telnet
Dear All
i have a centos 5 server running as a backup PC server and is working
perfect for abt 3 months
jus a couple of days back when i tried to telnet to the server it gave me
connection refused
i go to the server
and when i say telnet localhost it says
getaddrinfo: localhost Name or service not known
the /etc/hosts file has the loopback entry and the actuall ip address of
the server
