NFS new security requirements?
Hi
I've suddenly lost access to some permanent cross-server shares.
I think this was following the Nov 5 new kernel, rather than the Centos version upgrade.
I don't see any difference to man mount.nfs
I have:-
[root at hs6 ~]# mount hs8:/data /sysback/hs8-data -v
mount: no type was given - I'll assume nfs because of the colon
mount: trying 172.26.0.8 prog 100003 vers 3 prot tcp port

NFS lockups
I thought this had been fixed with newer kernels?
We have an old Maxtor Snap Server, an 80 GB NAS unit, containing some of our archives.
Both of our CentOS servers have it permanently mounted by NFS for convenient access.
This weekend, I discovered remotely that, although all systems except the VRTSralus remote agents for Veritas (now Symantec) Backup Exec were working just fine, both servers

Symantec Backup Exec (formerly Veritas) agent
I'm just wondering if anyone else here is using this?
The majority of jobs on our CentOS5 server "fail" by "Communications failure" right at the end, apparently on the very last file which, however, is recoverable, as is the whole archive. In more than half these failures, the Linux agent has stopped and, in about half of those, crashes leaving a backtrace. I had similar

[LLVMdev] Knowing all possible libcalls in advance and __bzero
Hi,
Looks like LLVM inserts a call __bzero even if my code never does so:
libclamav JIT: Attempt to call external function __bzero
libclamav JIT: *** FATAL error encountered during bytecode generation
It turns out this is because Codegen has this:
const char *X86Subtarget::getBZeroEntry() const {
// Darwin 10 has a __bzero entry point for this purpose.

Clamd issues on Centos 6.10
Hello all,
Been having an issue today that I can't seem to solve, so reaching out to others much more
knowledgeable for help/advice/assistance.
I ran the software update this morning and installed 134 packages, clamd was one of the packages.
Upon completion of the update, I needed to reboot the box. During bootup I got the following

VuXML entry for CVE-2007-1870: ClamAV CAB File Unstore Buffer Overflow
Good day.
Spotted the CVE-2007-1870: the clamav 0.90.2 is already in the ports,
but no sign of the issue in the VuXML. The entry is attached. One
thing that is a bit strange is that the ChangeLog for the ClamAV
(http://svn.clamav.net/svn/clamav-devel/trunk/ChangeLog) says about
CVE-2007-1997 as the libclamav/cab.c log entry, but I think they are
messed the numbers -- there is no such CVE, at

general protection and other errors
Hi,
I'm having a problem with a fedora15 x86_64 host with a fedora15
x86_64 guest on a Xeon E3-1240 with 8GB RAM on the guest. This is the
only guest. The server is configured as a mail server, using
spamassassin, postfix, amavisd, and clamav.
It was previously running without error on different hardware. I
migrated the disks to a more powerful server due to load. It's a new
server, and

Samba + Antivirus
List, we are working on implementing an antivirus solution (samba-vscan + clamav)on our samba shares. We performed the steps mentioned on some guides we found in Portuguese and things seems to be installed ok. But when we make a test and try to access a share, every file on it is not accessible (though we can mount the share) and after looking at /var/log/messages we see the following:

general protection errors
Hi,
Some time ago I sent a message about some general protection errors,
and didn't receive a response. I hoped I could post again and that
someone might have some ideas. I really don't think it is a hardware
problem producing these errors, but am otherwise out of ideas.

Has anyone recently started seeing

? I can't find anything googling for that.

Clamd issues on Centos 6.10
I fixed the country code issue but that did not resolve the problem.
I also removed all files in /var/lib/clamav and reran freshclam (without rebooting), that also did
not fix the problem.

For the record: Postfix+Spamassassin+ClamAV+Dovecot
Postfix 2.5.5
SpamAssassin 3.2.5 (under Perl 5.10.0)
ClamAV 0.95.1
Dovecot 1.2.rc2
works fine on Fedora 10.
Installed Dovecot and ClamAV from source and everything else using yum.
I'm using the ClamAV plugin for Spamassassin:
http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/ClamAVPlugin
I'm calling Spamassassin with:
/etc/postfix/main.cf:
mailbox_command = /usr/bin/spamc -f -e
