zfs drive keeps failing between export and import
I have a zpool that consists for a two-drive mirror. The two times I took the zpool offline, I had to resilver one of the drives (the same drive both times) when I imported it back. All drives in the pool show no read, write, or checksum errors and are new, so I'm looking to a software problem before hardware. Both drives are encrypted geli devices. I tried to reproduce the error with 1GB

Any options on crypt+zfs ?
hail, I have a soekris running an atom and 2GB RAM and ZFS using 7 drives, small capacity though, to test and study if I can make my home server this box and this way. It will be a simple server, three users tops. I followed the handbook and made the geli step on the disks: Geom name: label/zfs1.eli State: ACTIVE EncryptionAlgorithm: AES-XTS KeyLength: 128 Crypto: software UsedKey: 0 Flags:

Sendmail conf
A long time ago someone helped me with setting up sendmail to simply queue and relay mail. They suggested: 1) edit /etc/sysconfig/sendmail and set "DAEMON=no" 2) edit /etc/mail/submit.mc and set FEATURE(`msp', `[IP.of.relayhost]')dnl Given the sendmail-cf RPM is already installed a "service sendmail restart" is enough to a light, direct submitting sendmail

DNS resolve.conf not working
Hi All: After upgrading to 4.4 my server(s) will not resolve using the servers listed in resolve.conf. This is not true of a server running a DNS Cache server. I can do a netstat -e and show a connection to the DNS servers but it will not resolve any domain names (please see below). Any thoughts? [root at ftp ~]# dig yahoo.com ; <<>> DiG 9.2.4 <<>> yahoo.com ;;

Hello, when i mount a truecrpyt volume with truecrypt 5.1a and synchronize data locally with rsync (version 2.6.9 protocol version 29) like this way: $ truecrypt myvolume.tc $ rsync -av /home/oliver/myfolder /media/truecrypt The myfolder is copied to /media/truecrypt like it should. TrueCrypt WD External Drive
I have a WD Elements 2TB USB hard drive. I would like to encrypt the whole drive with TrueCrypt on my CentOS box. Could someone direct me to a tutorial on how to do this? Ideally, I would also like to access it with my WinXP box, but this part is optional. Thanks for your help. Mike.

Rsync Truecrypt
I have seen people say both that rsync can efficiently copy truecrypt volumes. I got it working once with deltacopy but as I'm trying to get it to work from the command line, I cannot. It just transfers the whole file. I am using -rvs -inplace switches. Does anybody have any suggestions? _____________________________ Stephen Zemlicka Integrated Computer Technologies PH.

truecrypt & kernel 2.6.24
Hi all, Has anyone used TrueCrypt on a XEN based machine before? I'm running CentOS 5.3 with kernel 2.6.18 but when I launch TrueCrypt, it keeps on telling me I need kernel 2.6.24 or later. "Your system uses an old version of the Linux Kernel. Due to a bug in the Linux Kernel, your system may stop responding when writing data to a TrueCrypt volume. This problem can be solved by

truecrypt on synology as subfolder
Just a small question. ============== I was really just meaning to ask whether there are issues with running truecrypt inside a samba share. My system had never had any issues but now I was writing to a folder that is a truecrypt mount inside a samba share and the smbd process writing into it blocked or is still "D" waiting for IO and I cannot kill it. So the question was whether

[How-To?] Using Syslinux AltMBR + TrueCrypt System Encryption (RFE: swap drive ID's)
Just achieved success using syslinux to multi-OS boot, including a WinXP System (boot) partition that's been encrypted with TrueCrypt (TC). You'll need syslinux version 3.81-pre13 or newer to get a working altmbr.bin file. I used: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/Testing/syslinux-3.81-pre13.zip Background: I started with a 'normal' multi-OS boot setup as

After reboot dmesg does not have any strange entries. I double-checked crons, any strange

Same output in NUT as from APC tools?
Hello, Since I have now nearly all stuff running on my LH7A404 and now I am working on my DS80C411, I like to know, whether NUT show the APC UPS stats like the APC tools. Currently I do not know, HOW NUT triber the USB-Poert to get out the infos of the UPS. In theory I do send out only arround 5-60 lines of data which then NUT or any other programs must parse or something
