Hello My ssh terminal froze some times, and I was thinking it might be related to centos , but now I found that even ubuntu users experiencing the same problem. does ssh logs any where, and what do you suggest for finding the cause. Thanks

Earlier, I was using GNOME and Firefox and the Mouse died. I had to kill the power, to get the box going again, because it doesn't have a reset switch; which is *not* an elegant way to get going. What key combination would get me going or to a shell? CentOS 5, fully updated, 32 bit. TIA!

Hi, I just upgraded to the newest kernel and Flash. Hulu now "grays out" when I try to go to full screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the proprietary video drivers (no difference either way), so I'm guessing it has something to do with either the new Flash or the new kernel. I was installing centos 5.3 x86_64 on a sempron 2.7G machine with 512M ram. The install started off fine then REALLY SLOWED down about 70% into install. I did have a swap space. after that it just crawled. I tried restart the install a couple times at 512M. Same thing around 70% the slow down. Hi, I have 20Gb of data I need to back up. It takes too copy it across the internet. Is there a way I can copy it locally to some removable media like a couple of DVDs, then bring them to the target machine, copy onto the target, then run rsync to grab any updates? What if the target doesn't have the same users as the source. Is there a suggested recipe for this? Thanks Jay
