xloadimage in centos 5.1
I have noticed that xloadimage rpm is not in centos 5.1
I use the command "xview -identity" to get the size of gifs, jpgs, and pngs.
xview is part of the xloadimage package.
The command "file filename" also reports sizes for gifs and pngs BUT not
for jpgs.
Is there an alternative command to use to report gif jpg and png sizes?
I thought about just getting an older

command to echo size of images
All,
Is there a command line program in centos to echo back the size of an
image (gif,jpg,png)?
I did see that file image.jpg sometimes works but reports the wrong
image size.
I see xview image.jpg reports the correct size but I dont want to see
the image just get its size.
Thanks for any suggestions.

convert files with ghostscript to tiff gets black page with xview
I am using oowriter to just type a couple lines,
export that as PDF, use ghostscript to convert to tiff
then view with xview and my page is all black.
I use the command to convert to tiff.
gs -q -sDEVICE=tiffg3 -sPAPERSIZE=a4 -r204x196 -dNOPAUSE
-sOutputFile=/tmp/faxme.g3 -- file.pdf
xview /tmp/faxme.g3
The resulting file size is 9788 for faxme.g3
Have I done something wrong? I would have

updating to 6.4 broke olvwm/openwin
This morning a handful of workstations got upgraded from 6.3 to 6.4 and
things seemed to be functional, until we tried to log in to one of our
instrument accounts that for various reasons uses olvwm/openwin as the
desktop (and no, I don't have the option of changing that at this time).
The desktop appears to load correctly, and mouse-focus and clicking
appears to work, but the

installing 5.3 with 512M ram really slow
I was installing centos 5.3 x86_64 on a sempron 2.7G machine with
512M ram. The install started off fine then REALLY SLOWED down
about 70% into install. I did have a swap space. after that it just crawled.
I tried restart the install a couple times at 512M. Same thing around 70%
the slow down.
I then put in 1G of RAM and everything zipped on past and finished fine.
Does 5.3 have minimum

Samba 4.10.8 and 4.9.13 for rhel7/centos7 rpms
Hi everyone,
In case anyone's interested, I've posted the rpm builds of samba 4.10.8
that I'm using on RHEL7.7. (I run these in VMs, serving as AD DCs for my SOHO).
These rpms use the default python2 from the system.
The 4.10.x SPEC file is now more closely aligned with upstream (Fedora
SPEC file) and I've yet to test these builds using the system's python3 on
RHEL7.

Samba 4.11.3, 4.10.11 and 4.9.17 for Centos7/RHEL7
Hi everyone,
I've posted some rpm builds of samba 4.11.3, 4.10.11 and 4.9.17 for
RHEL/Centos 7.x (currently 7.7). The 4.11 rpms use the python3 and
python3-devel rpms introduced in the standard RHEL/Centos repos at the
same time as the 7.7 version.
Comments and/or testing feedback would be most welcomed.
