SELinux error message on CentOS 5: "multiple same specifications"
Hi all, I just installed a CentOS 5 machine from Kickstart. I configure NSS and PAM to lookup and authenticate users from LDAP with authconfig. On my LDAP I also have some automount configuration, but I'm not running automount on this server. SELinux is installed and enforcing. Whenever I try to install an RPM (and in other occasions during boot) I see those messages: # rpm -Uvh ... .rpm

Device enumeration during kickstart
By default, a kickstart installation will spread the configured partitions over all disks that are found, and the only way around that is to use --ondisk or ignoredisk. But I was wondering how reliable this method is. E.g. if there are four SATA ports on the system board, can I blindly assume that port one will always correspond to sda, port two to sdb, and so on? Can I assume that a second

Kickstart 8TB partition limit?
I found a kickstart installation with part pv.100000 --size=1 --grow volgroup vol0 pv.100000 creates a partition with a size of 8TB even though more than 9TB is available. I need to go in manually with gdisk to destroy the partition and recreate it with all available space. No filesystem is specified be cause want to use xfs, which kickstart does not support out of the box. This is under

Kickstart wrong swap size
All machines kickstarted here consistently have a swap partition with the wrong size. Custom SELinux file contexts?
Hi. Do anyone know of some place to put custom SELinux file context specifications? I would prefer not to append lines to /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts but rather put one or more similar files somewhere. A file_contexts.d firectory would be nice, but it isn't available. Just creating your own file_contexts.local file does not work, I already tried. I'm running

Reaching out to libguestfs@redhat.com. Thanks Shahar, I didn't know that email alias existed. Also, I made the XML, full logs, and sosreport from the VM in question available here [1] [1] -http://people.redhat.com/~jcall/tmp.cKGPeNjfi8/ Thank you, John Call Red Hat - Solutions Architect jcall@redhat.com (714) 267-8802 On Thu, Dec 29, 2016 at 2:40 AM, Shahar Havivi

buildinstall problems
Hello all! I am trying to make a stripped down CentOS 5.2 distro which will all fit on a single CD containing just the base and a few other packages I need. I run buildinstall like so: sudo /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime/buildinstall --debug --version 5 --product CentOS --comps /var/www/html/centos/5.2/os/x86_64/repodata/comps.xml --release My-CentOS-5.2 --prodpath CentOS

CentOS5 and samba
We're trying to migrate RHEL3 and CentOS4 based samba servers over to CentOS5, but it's a bleeding disaster. We cannot get it to work reliably with any version of CentOS5, i386 or x86_64, the included 3.0.x version of samba or 3.4.x/3.5.x compiled from source. The symptoms are: read access is extremely slow, write access seems to work in principle (e.g. creating a zeros-sized file on

Help integrating CentOS 6 with existing network login infrastructure
I've updated my kickstart configuration files to work with CentOS 6 and am most of the way there integrating a CentOS 6 system into our LDAP/NIS environment. My authconfig line in the kickstart file is as follows: authconfig --enablemd5 --passalgo=sha512 --enablenis --nisdomain=XXX --nisserver=nis.XXX.com --useshadow --enablekrb5 --krb5realm=XXX.COM --krb5kdc=ldap.XXX.com
