CentOS-4 Xen kernel with low RAM and Badness in local_bh_enable at kernel/softirq.c:141
I have small xen VM running centos4 which acts as a router/firewall, and has
been working fine for over 1.5 years with 32MB of RAM and a kernel I either
got from xensource.org or built myself from their sources. (centos 4 didn't
have a xen kernel back then)
I lost the kernel to a corrupted disk and decided to use the centos provided
xen kernel.
All these months 32MB + 64MB Swap was more than

[LLVMdev] Initial thoughts on an LLVM backend for N-address generic assembly
Hi all,
i'm just starting out with LLVM (although i've been observing its
evolution since that first release some years ago :)
I would like to develop a backend for a generic assembly-like
language, called NAC (N-Address Code). More info on NAC can be found

smbldap-populate....maputf8 errors
Hi,
I am trying to set up a SAMBA PDC using LDAP for authentication. I am using
this document as a guide:
http://download.gna.org/smbldap-tools/docs/samba-ldap-howto/
SAMBA and openldap are running on the same machine for R&D purposes and I am
using the following software:
OpenSuSE 10.3
samba-3.0.26a-3
openldap2-2.3.37-6
smbldap-tools-0.9.2
I have configured slapd.conf:

Trouble with 5.2==>5.3 upgrade
I've updated two 5.2 systems without a hitch. But this third one is
giving me some grief. See errors below.
Googling for "Package does not match intended download" turns up a bunch
of hits, but none of them (that I've seen) offers any working solution.
Can someone suggest how to overcome the following error(s)
Thanks a bunch!

I seem to be able to get all of the 5.x update except for the kernel.

Just did yum update. There were numerous packages to be updated. I get

The update bombed stating I need nss-3.12.2.0-2.el5. I did a rpm -q nss and

What's up with that?

IMAP activity after disconnect
Howdy,
I'm running Dovecot 1.1.16 on a staging server to do some testing before
building a new server and moving a bunch of qmail/vpopmail/courier
accounts over.
I wanted to test the migration of courier accounts to dovecot with a few
clients, so I copied over a few large accounts. All went well with a
small account (100+ messages) when accessing the account via POP - no
re-downloads

Mirror problems with elfutils-debuginfod-client
The package elfutils-debuginfod-client is needed for even a minimal
install, but it is not available on most mirrors. I suspect some are
excluding mirroring debuginfo packages with just a *debuginfo* pattern
to rsync, where they should do something like *-debuginfo-*.rpm (which
should be good for now as I don't see any package with just "debuginfo"
in the name, even in Fedora).

Winbind+nss working on one centOS 5.2 box but not another
Hi all,
I have an odd situation on my hands:
* Two CentOS 5.2 boxes both joined to an AD domain.
* Same samba version (3.0.28-1.el5_2.1) smb.conf, only the netbios names
differ
* Can enumerate users and groups using winbind -{u,g} on both.
* nss doesn't enumerate users & groups on one (same lib versions, same
conf file).

logrotate: how to email logs with mutt?
Hello,
next week I'll install logrotate on a centos 4.4 server via yum.
The man page says that the default mail command is /bin/mail -s, but
there is no such binary on Centos.
I do have mutt installed, however, so I would like to use it. Ideally,
I would like to have logrotate send logs with mutt as attachments like
this:
mutt me at home.account -a compressed_log_file -s "here are

"na.strings" and the like; suspending interpretation of "NA"
Can someone point me to the proper place in the documentation or on the
Wiki where I can learn how to get R to stop interpreting the string "NA"
as something special? I have a table in a database which contains
(among other things) country codes and continent codes. The standard
set of two-letter codes includes "NA" to denote "North America". I
