totem: something wrong with gstreamer-plugins-ugly
When running totem to play a move (e.g. mpeg-1 file), it fails with the message: "A MPEG-1 System Stream demuxer plugin is required to play this stream, but not installed." After reading docs and trying various things I've reduced the source of the problem to the package gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.11-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm # rpm --rebuilddb # rpm -q libdvdread libdvdread-4.1.3-1.el5 #

Attn Packagers: Dependency change from gstreamer-0.10 to gstreamer >= 1.0
Thank you for the hint. Setting PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/pkgconfig before ./configure works for me. Attn Packagers: Dependency change from gstreamer-0.10 to gstreamer >= 1.0
Hi all, The next release of Wine will include a commit which changes our winegstreamer dshow module to use the modern gstreamer 1.0 API instead of the long-deprecated gstreamer 0.10 API. dshow is used by some games and applications, including Microsoft Office, to display videos and play audio. Wine's winegstreamer allows applications that use dshow to support a wide variety of media through

gstreamer-0.10 development libraries not found on Fedora 16
Hello all, I try to compile 32 bit Wine (latest wine-git) on 64 bit Fedora 16 with gstreamer support, but after ./configure command I always get that my libraries are missing. I did following to get all dependencies for building wine: Building Wine on Fedora 14 x86_64 (http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit) install-wine-deps.sh (http://winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/install-wine-deps.sh)

Gstreamer Help?
I have this program called ChemDraw that I use for school. It was working great yesterday in WINE 1.3.26. Then I get the bright idea to upgrade 1.3.27. Now ChemDraw doesn't work. So I'm trying to compile WINE 1.3.26 from source so that I can run ChemDraw in 1.3.26. I get this error when trying to compile 1.3.26: > configure: gstreamer-0.10 base plugins 32-bit development files not

Safe to use gstreamer repository for RH or Fedora?
I'd like to install "Gstreamer" so that I can get MP3 support in Rhythmbox. At least, I'm led to believe MP3 support comes with installing Gstreamer from Rhythmbox's FAQ. But when I get to the Gstreamer download page: http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/download/ ... it says: "Do not compile from source yourself unless you are certain you have to or want to" Okay,

gstreamer on Mac OS X
Has anyone gotten this to work? Configure always tells me the development files are not found for base plugins... maybe they need to be in a different location than I have them... I know this was true for gsm which I finally got working after having to manually make dylibs and subfolders in my includes... I have installed, with development files... gstreamer, along with the base and good

Plain Speex, or GStreamer?
I wasn't able to find anything in the list archives, please forgive me if this question has been asked before... Our app needs to support multiple media types, so GStreamer would seem to be the obvious choice. However, voice quality is paramount for us. Are there any disadvantages to using the Speex plugin for GStreamer as opposed to directly coding to the Speex API? In

make swfdec a gstreamer backend?
Hi, I don't know much about gstreamer internals so I'm not sure.. The idea just appeared in my mind. Is it possible to make swfdec a gstreamer plugin? Totem then can play swf files. Totem already has a plugin for Epiphany so we don't have to write another plugin for epiphany. I don't know how gstreamer handle interative input though. -- Duy

OGM and GStreamer
Well, actually most OGM files do have a subtitle track, often in multiple langauges. Also, re 2. Keyframe seeking in OGM is generally a bit rough because ogm files can contain almost any codec as the video track, usually xvid or divx. re 1. As a general rule you shouldn't be trying to make any more ogm files :) So chances are the ogg muxer is not accepting the connection, because it

speex dsp as a gstreamer plugin
Hi, i'm not an expert in dsp but i've seen there is some code to run speex on omap C5X dsp so i was wondering what is the status of this code. Actually my goal is to run a voip application which uses gstreamer on an OMAP 5912 board. As there is already a speex codec for gstreamer, i was wondering if this plugin can already use the dsp power or if there is the need for a new plugin. thank

Integrating Swfdec and GStreamer
Hi, I've recently been looking at integrating Swfdec and GStreamer. There are some issues I'd like advice on. In order of importance for me: 1) Using GStreamer codecs Swfdec currently has a simple API for decoding data that looks like GstBuffer *decode_next_buffer (Decoder *dec, GstBuffer *input); [1] Which is used to decode video (VP6 and Sorensen Squeeze/H263 to RGBA) and audio

(K)Ubuntu 11.4 x86_64 compiling wine gstreamer
Since the latest wine builds wine don't finds the gstreamer-dev files. When i try to to compile wine 1.3.15 wine finds them but not for wine 1.3.27. I had a packages installed that are needed to build wine ( i installed them through apt-get build-dep wine1.3).This problem also happens at the building of the latest ppa packages for ubumtu amd64.
