Bind9 AD SDLZ driver failed to load
I installed Bind9 on a new ubuntu 13.04 server using apt-get install bind9 and am trying to integrate AD into it. Bind starts fine and will resolve my domain and computer names, but when I add the line include "/usr/local/samba/private/named.conf" into /etc/bind/named.conf, Bind9 fails to start. I have edited that file to ensure the correct line is included for Bind 9.9, and I am not

bind9, SELinux, ServFail
I just set up a CentOS 5.2 system with bind9 (9.3.4-6.0.1.P1.el5) and I'm running up against a problem that seems to be related to SELinux. If I set named_disable_trans to 1, everything works as expected, but if I leave it enabled the server will only give me data for the zones for which it is authoritative. For external sites it returns a ServFail error. This is with nslookup and dig. If I

My smb.conf file looks like the this: [global] workgroup = CAREMARKRX

Lots of FIN_WAIT_1 TCP Connections and deadlock in zoneli state
Hi All, I am running squid as reverse proxy on FreeBSD 7.0-R amd64. After running for a while (~ 8 hours), the throughput degrades to very very low rate. I found the squid is in "zoneli" state and is already a bug report on http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=106317 But after more investigation, I found there are lots of TCP Connections in FIN_WAIT_1 and never close. # netstat

Chrooting dovecot.
Greetings, I have installed Dovecot under FreeBSD 5_3 It is pretty impressive. I got SSL working with no problem for both imap and pop3. Besides that I do still want to chroot Dovecot. I noticed that there are some options in the dovecot.conf that are intended for this. Unfortunately online resources on how to do that can't be found on google. Although I'm running the server as user

Is my Apache server running as the root user or not?
Heya.. By reading my /usr/local/etc/apache2/httpd.conf, I can find out that my Apache is running as the user "www" and the group "www" .. Yet, when I run sockstat, it tells me one of the forks are runned as root and listening on port 80 as well as the other forks are runned by www:www.. If I got a lot of users connecting to my server on port 80, will thier requests ever be

Problem with Samba 4.2/FreeBSD10.1
Hi Everyone, my first foray into Samba and AD both. Not sure if this is an OS or configuration problem. I've found similar issues, but nothing either recent enough (is related to samba 3) or close enough. FreeBSD-10.1-RELENG, Samba 4.2.2. I have the domain provisioned as rfc2307 I have joined a Win7-virtual machine to the domain I have created a new user with ADUC I have assigned 10000 to

idmap uid range 10000-20000: pam_winbind does NOT work ?
Hi all! Again, unexpected behaviour! When I set in smb.conf idmap uid = 10000-20000 idmap gid = 10000-20000 I CAN change and SEE domain users ang groups as I change the owner of a file on Unix: chown domain+user ./test.txt chgrp domain+group ./test.txt ls -l /tmp -rw-r--r-- 1 user group 0 Feb 4 20:25 test.txt <- I SEE DOMAIN USER AND GROUP BUT I'm NOT able to telnet or ftp

Please Help! Dynamic DNS just will not work: " failed gss_inquire_cred: GSSAPI error: Major = Unspecified GSS failure"
I just can't seem to get dynamic DNS updates working on CentOS 6.4 with samba 4.0 .tar.gz from samba.org using BIND9_DLZ. If I run bind 9.8.2.rc1 in debug mode and go to a domain joined windows client and run 'ipconfig /registerdns' this is what I get in my console: 31-May-2013 23:51:06.520 client 10.0.0.106#54352: new TCP connection 31-May-2013 23:51:06.520 client 10.0.0.106#54352:

new feature w/ patch
I've attached a patch to OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 that will allow the client side of local port forwarding to be bound to a single address. For my purposes, binding to 127.0.0.1 or (via GatewayPorts) all addresses would not work. I overloaded the "-b local_host" option so that it's address will be used when "-L port:remote_host:remote_port" is also specified. Today is the first
