LMTP & home, chroot, mail userdb fields.
Hello, Dovecot. I'm using postfix + dovecot with pure virtual users. postfix uses standard virtual transport, and dovecot fetches such fields from userdb: chroot: "/usr/home/hosted/v-mail/%d/%n" home: "/" mail: "maildir:." Everything works Ok -- dovecot founds users' mail. Now, after upgrade to dovecot2, I want to use it LMTP server as

7.1-stable (righ after release) locks up on soekris net5501 every day
Hello, Freebsd-stable. I installed 7.1-STABLE on my new Soekris net5501. Kernel config is in attach. This unit lock up in strange way every day. It is pingable, but no access to host on any network protocol (sshd, named, etc are not answering), and serial console (only one this unit has) DOESN'T ANSWER too! Only way to un-freeze it is cold reboot. I've thought, it is

I'm listening to FLAC on my ipod!
Just to let you guys know, I've been listening to FLAC (compression level 2 or lower) tunes on my 3rd generation ipod running ipodlinux (modified uCLinux) for the past few days. No skips or slow-downs whatsoever using MPD to play music. It's pretty cool to be able to use my iPod for the first time in 7 months. (I could've dual-booted the Apple firmware, but nearly all my music is in

Using MPD as an Icecast source (hint: using jack helps)
I thought I should report this: (In my case at least) defining a "jack" output for mpd caused a "shout" output to become operational. I was trying to configure mpd with a "shout" output to feed my Icecast2 server, but with no luck. Giving up, I fell back to option 2: Feeding my mpd output to darkice using "jack" as an interface. As soon as I had defined

Any way to setup a lossless stream from MPD? I know MPD can encode FLAC, but I don't know if Icecast can handle it. Using Xen Virtualization Environment for Development and Testing of Supercomputing and High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster MPICH2 MPI-2 Applications

VPN through BSD for Win2k, totally baffled
Scenario: FreeBSD box running IPFW acting as a gateway to private network. The private network is made up of entirely routeable IP addresses. External users running Win2k and XP on DSL connections with dynamic IPs. Goal: To have the FreeBSD gateway securely authenticate and encrypt the traffic between the outside users and the internal network. I've spent the last 3 days running up and

Yeah i meant that only. But MPD is not working well in Windows. Can you elaborate other types for creating database ?? Can we fetch songs from that database on user demand? Down the MPD road
Well, after working through the various options it looked like MPD would be my best bet here. I've got it sort of working, but there's obviously some tweaky I'm missing here. Recap of the scenario: Full class C of static IPs segmented into 3 networks. Outside, DMZ, Inside. Trying to get remote Windows users through securely to the Inside. Remote users have dynamic IPs.

MFC requests for 6.3
I would like to request that some useful work on networking be MFCed from -CURRENT to -STABLE in time for the release of FreeBSD 6.3. In particular, I'd like to see some of the Netgraph nodes which are new or which have seen extensive development brought in -- ng_nat and ng_car in particular. Bringing in the latest version of ng_nat would allow more flexible in-kernel NAT, while ng_car (which
