Writing a mod_put HttpHandler
I''m looking at writing a Mongrel handler that mimics the behavior of
the Apache mod_put [1]. It allows for the streaming upload of very
large (GB) files; it also supports resumable upload.
Before I get too involved, I''d like to ask if my reading of the
mongrel source code is correct, i.e. what I want to do isn''t
currently possible.
Looking at the class

Large file support (up and down) for Mongrel 0.13.3
I''ve just checked in changes to improve handling of massive posts and
massive downloads. Generally speaking, Mongrel has been keeping
everything in memory. (Unless you''re using DirHandler and have the
sendfile gem in place.) Now, downloads should be pretty swift even
without the sendfile gem.
HttpResponse#send_file rips out the file streaming support from
DirHandler and

Patch sensible callback framework
This patch adds a simple callback framework.
Modified loadfile and floadfile to look for callbacks and call them if present
Supports multiple callbacks
Modified com32/modules/linux.c to demonstrate functionality (it's a little more complicated than it should be just to demonstrate multiple callbacks). Add progress argument to display a percentage indicator when loading.

[PATCH] ocfs2: Fix wrong search logic in __ocfs2_resv_find_window
** problem **
Current code triggers a defragfs bug [1]:
```
tw-tst:~ # defragfs.ocfs2 /mnt/test_from_dd1
defragfs.ocfs2 1.8.7
[ERROR]Move extent failed:"/mnt/test_from_dd1" - No space left on device
[ERROR]"/mnt/test_from_dd1":No space left on device
```
I added some debug messages in relevant functions. When above error
messages appeared, the la-window still had enough

slightly speeding up readChar()
Hi,
I was trying to have R read files faster with readChar(). That was before I noticed that readChar() is not that bad! In any case, below I suggest a few simple changes that will make readChar slightly faster.
I followed readChar(useBytes=T), and tried to identify all O(N) operations, where N is the size of the file. The assumption is that for LARGE files we want to avoid any O(N) operations,

RJS & IE Woes
Hi,
I''m trying to do a very simple slide_down effect with RJS templates.
Basically a user selects a check box and a text box slides down.
This works great in firefox, but causes IE to crash. The text box appears
and slides down. Then the browser crashes.

Reading HTTP Request parameters
Hello
I''ve a client which send this request to a mongrel HTTPHandler :
res=Net::HTTP.post_form(URI.parse(''http://localhost:3000/test''),{"a"=>1,"b"=>2})
But in the handler I can''t read the parameters one by one, I can read
the entire String only :

class MyHandler < Mongrel::HttpHandler

SEEK_DATA/HOLE on ocfs2 - v2
Two patches follow this message. One fixes the default implementation
of SEEK_HOLE/DATA. This patch applies atop Josef's last posted patch.
The second patch implements the same on ocfs2.
The test tool for the same is available here.
http://oss.oracle.com/~smushran/seek_data/seek_test.c
It is improved since the last post. It runs cleanly on zfs, ocfs2 and ext3
(default behavior). Users

BUG: HTTP body content get parsed in PUT call
I''m developing a Rail application to accept data upload using HTTP PUT
call. Support for PUT in Rails seems to be broken in query params
parsing. I have a patch to fix the problem, but I''m not sure if it is
the "right" solution. Can some Rails developers take a quick look? I
can really use some help. :-)
Here is the evident of broken param parsing.

[PATCH] Fits: tool to parse stream
Simple tool to parse a fits-stream from stdout.

The idea of the btrfs send stream format was to generate it in a way that
it is easy to receive on different platforms. Thus the proposed name FITS, for
Filesystem Incremental Backup Stream. We should also build the tools to
receive the stream on different platforms.

question about cloud() in lattice package
Hi all,
I have been previously been using scatterplot3d package to create some graphs but unfortunately it does not allow me to rotate the
plot on all three axis. The cloud() function in the lattice package does allow me to do so. When I was using scatterplot3d I was
using a script (Shown Below) to calculate the mean, quartiles and range limits for all three axis and I was representing that on the

[PATCH]: scp could hang in Cygwin
Hi,
attached is a patch which solves the following problem:
Sometimes scp could hang in Cygwin when used as remote end using
the -t option. This is due to a binmode/textmode problem which
could be raised by the login shell which is used by the user and
it's setting of textmode on stdin. The patch solves that problem
by explicitly setting binmode on stdin.
Besides solving the hanging

Passing from data via POST
Mongrel Users: How does the HttpHandler process() method deal with
data passed via POST?
The HttpRequest object captures all GET params appended to an URL, but
I just tried to
retrieve data passed via POST and it came up nil.
that is, I assumed the HttpRequest object contained the
param named in the html form and its value.But the POST passed params
are not found in the
request object.
