Printing in Corel Draw through CUPS
10/10/2007 After consulting with some local Linux consultants, we have concluded that Corel Draw does not print under WINE because it detects the printer as Postscript, converts the file to Postscript, and sends the file to CUPS, which then converts the file to Postscript, again, and sends it to the printer which prints garbage. The consultant found a way to make a couple changes to WINE

Why S4 method is not visible from another package?
Dear All, maybe this is something obvious, I seem to be incapable of understanding how S4 works. So, in package 'A' I defined a "summary" method for my class: setMethod("summary", signature(object="ListHyperGResult"), function(object, pvalue=pvalueCutoff(object), categorySize=NULL) { "whatever" })

accessing USB as storage device through lxc container.
Hi all, I am not able to access USB as storage device in the lxc container. Having tried to pass the usb device with the product and vendor id, not able to see the device mounted in the lxc file system. However, they are seen as char devices in the container at the location. There is no issue of ACL, as the capabilities restrictions have been dropped. Has anyone successfully mounted the storage

exporting custom facts to puppet agents
Dear all, I have a custom fact, that reads a file and then generate the values dynamically based on the file content. It''s something like this: inFile = "/home/admin/OSs.txt" > gos = {} > > if File.exist?(inFile) > open(inFile, ''r'').each do |line| > next if line =~ /^\s*(#|$)/ > parts =

INITRAMFS: allow no trailer
According to "initramfs buffer format -- third draft" http://lwn.net/2002/0117/a/initramfs-buffer-format.php3 "the cpio "TRAILER!!!" entry (cpio end-of-archive) is optional, but is not ignored" The kernel handling does not follow this spec. If you add null padding after an uncompressed cpio without TRAILER!!! the kernel complains "no cpio magic". In a

Running Cubase with wine - HOW?
I am completely new to Linux and Wine. I've tried to make Wine work since some 1999, but never had patience with it. Tried reading guides, manuals and so on, but things did not work. All Linux versions I've tried have never run any windows-based programs after I installed Wine (and used to install a propper version of wine - that corresponds to Linux version) - what I did is what is said

Performance issues: have eliminated disk and network as cause
Hi, I'm not entirely happy with the performance I'm seeing using Samba, and I wonder if anyone can shine any light. The server is a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with hardware RAID10, 4GB RAM and a quad-core Intel Xeon processor. It's not live yet, so there's no load from other tasks. I've already eliminated the RAID (able to sustain 130-140MB/s for reads/writes) and the network

Apple movie trailers on Centos6/Firefox
Hi all! Once again, Apple has messed with their trailers/website such that I can no longer play their trailers on Centos 6 (note that it still works fine on my two Fedora machines, F17 and F19, without any special settings. on Centos, I've long ago found that by setting the user agent to certain values I could make it work, but now that no longer helps. when I try to view a trailer all I get

Webm files written without duration in header
Hi Marvin I followed this advice for updating moov flags in mp4 and it "streams" directly from the file location on the server with html5 video: https://rigor.com/blog/optimizing-mp4-video-for-fast-streaming. Progressive downloading, seeking and video time all works 100% on a 195MB file. Regards On Wed, May 1, 2019 at 10:19 PM Marvin Scholz <epirat07 at gmail.com> wrote: >
