Weired Sound Issues on Opensuse 11.1 and ALSA (Wine 1.1.26)
Hello Everybody
I got some little issues with the sound. Logged in as my normal user - I've the testsound (winecfg) on the internal device. I can't change it.
If I log in as root I've the testsound on my external USB speakers (the way I would prefer it works).
I can't Imagine me - why there is a different between root and my normal user.
Please find below some details.

Starcraft II on OpenSUSE 12.1 installing but not startin
Im running Opensuse 12.1 64 bit with KDE 4.8.2 installed.
I've tried both the basic wine install as well as installing through crossover. The game installs fine after I downloaded the online version install, but after it shows 100% installed and I hit next, it briefly shows the update screen and then seemingly crashes. Afterwards, when I click to run Starcraft II it just shows the waiting

EAC (exactaudiocopy) in openSUSE 10.2
Hello wine users:
Could someone, please, help me how to make work EAC with
wine in openSUSE 10.2?
Earlier (SUSE 10.1) I could configure wine to use windows
2000 as default windows version and EAC to use 'native Win32
interface for WinNT/2000/XP' and these worked together fine.
Now in openSUSE 10.2 (wine version wine-0.9.37-12.1) when I
start EAC with wine I get:
a) when the interface

Failed to load wine, winecfg, wineconsole, etc.
Hopefully somebody has info on this topic.
I have just installed Wine on OpenSuse 11.1. I've tried to install MSOffice 2003 but when double clicking on setup.exe nothing happens. I also tried by typping "wine /media/MSOfficeCD/setup.exe" but I get this error
X Error of failed request: XF86VidModeExtensionDisabled

Wine 1.1.17 ..broke?
I just compiled wine 1.1.17 from source and then set it up with 32libs like I usually do (ArchLinux 64bit) and then I tried to run winecfg like I always do when I install a new version of wine.
I get this in terminal
"/usr/bin/wine: failed to read ELF header"
Any attempt to run anything except just plain "wine" gives the same message.
I thought at first it was my fault

To hell with OpenSuse, ditch it and go to Ubuntu
this blog entry
http://www.viggie.com/blog/software/opensuse-ubuntu-usage-experience
, if credible , would seem to suggest that there is no good reason to
choose Suse.
I really don't have time for such nonsense, maybe I'll just reinstall as Ubuntu.
Also, noticed that GCC was not installed when Suse installed. That's
just weird, GCC is part of Linux.
And if you try to install GCC,

1.3.26 focus on Wine windows minimizes all native windows
Since updating to 1.3.26 anytime the window for a program running
through wine has focus all native (opensuse 11.4 kde) windows minimize.
If I click on a native window in my task bar the wine window minimizes
and all previously viewable native windows appear. I have never had this
happen before and have not changed anything on the system other than the
wine update in the time this problem

Run 32 bit apps on Wine x64?
Hi. I installed Wine and tried to run Briad game on a laptop with openSUSE 11.3 x64. It throws me the message:
Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64)
err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
Which means Wine x64 is not able to run 32 bit apps, and I imagined it. I installed Wine through Yast, selecting the packages

ALSA Drivers not detected in openSUSE 11.1.
I have made a fresh installation of openSUSE 11.1 x86_64. I compiled WINE from source (newest dev version) and I only have one problem and that is that in the sound tab of the winecfg app, I can only see the OSS driver and not the ALSA driver. What could be causing this? :?
I'm using "MCP55 High Definition Audio" which is the on-board audio device. The sound seems to be working

Running apps with wine after login to another user account
Hello,
I'm running various apps with wine on OpenSuse 11.0. I have 2 user accounts in my system. Now, if one user logs in to his account, then logs out (without running any program), wine can't be used when another user logs in. Typing "winecfg" in console does nothing, ps aux shows that some wine related processes run, but no window appears. The same with any application with

Wine & Intel 945 : hangs when switching between X & console
Hi All,
I have been running WINE quite contently for the last year & think it is an amazing product!
There is one thing though that is quite bugging and I would like to share to see if others also have this experience and we can maybe fix..
On my laptop (it has an Intel 945 GM video chipset) I'm having problems when using WINE. Not with WINE itself but more with system stability.

First application in Wine
I have installed Wine 1.1.9 on a PC running openSUSE 11.1. Apparently, all seems ok, I can run winefile, regedit, winecfg. I have installed an application which makes use of an USB port. The installation was ok. When I run this application, I get the following message:
fixme:win:RegisterDeviceNotificationA (hwnd=0x1002a, filter=0xa0fc64,flags=0x00000000),
returns a fake device

Wine + openSUSE 11.0 64 bit
Hi!
I'm trying to install Wine on openSUSE 11.0 64 bit version. I'm doing it throught YaST. But there's this problem: somehow it lacks libgphoto2.so.2 the whole time. I tried to download the libs and so on, but it just doesn't work.
Any clues? Help would be appreciated.
